The Harcourts Foundation has reached $9 million in funds raised and supported over 1,356 charities since its inception.

The Announcement:

The Harcourts Foundation, backed by one of the world’s fastest growing real estate companies, Harcourts, has today celebrated a major milestone, ticking over $9 million in funds raised since its inception.

The Foundation has made a substantial impact across New Zealand, Australia and South Africa, supporting some 1,356 charities since 2008.

“Harcourts has proudly worked since 1888 in our communities every day to fulfil people’s dreams of achieving a home,” Pauline Smith, Australia’s Head of The Harcourts Foundation said.

“Reaching the $9 million mark is an incredible achievement in tough economic times, but what truly matters is the outcomes the donations have enabled the hard-working charities to achieve at a local level.”

The funds raised have supported numerous organisations and projects, including aiding those affected by natural disasters, providing meals for families in need, building homes for underprivileged communities, funding medical research, creating opportunities for youth development, preserving heritage sites, supporting animal shelters, and backing art programmes.

Members of Harcourts across Australia, New Zealand and South Africa contribute to the Foundation, with the majority of donations coming from Harcourts offices.

“At the core of Harcourts are our Values,” Ms Smith said.

“Putting people first, doing the right thing, being courageous, and having fun and laughter. The Harcourts Foundation embodies these Values and represents what it means to be part of Harcourts.”

Mike Green, Managing Director, Harcourts International, remarked on the achievement.

“It’s an incredible achievement, and one that is a testament to the Harcourts spirit,” Mr Green said.

“Despite recent declines in charitable giving, Team Harcourts continues to offer their incredible support to needy organisations.”

Ms Smith also revealed plans for early 2025.

“In early 2025 the Harcourts Foundation will partner with a national charity, significantly increasing its impact in its community,” she said.

“More information on that will be announced very soon.”
