Stand out in a sea of sameness

In a market that is saturated with agents and different brands people are just bombarded with so many messages, and standing out is no longer a luxury – it’s a necessity.

Have you ever sent a text, email or left a message to one of your potential sellers and they didn’t engage with you?

You left not one but 3 messages via voicemail and 3 text messages and still Nada….Happens all the time -right? Stop trying to get people’s attention.

Instead, start doing things that are worth paying attention to.

People are fascinated when you are different. The average person receives countless messages, emails and voicemails.

The only way to cut through the noise is by being distinct. Difference grabs people’s attention disrupts the expected and triggers curiosity.

Your customers are naturally drawn to what stands out because it challenges their thinking, expectations and compels them to pay attention.

By doing things differently this becomes your superpower and your competitive edge in the marketplace, not only getting the prospect’s attention to ‘stop and think’ but making you more memorable to other agents.

Right now, I know you’re thinking give an example:

I had a client who had a property, and the vendors had agreed to lower the price on the property after 3 months on the market.

To re-energise the listing and buyer excitement with the buyers the agent targeted either previous enquiry, previous open home attendees or buyers on their database.

This is what she sent out as a text message and got so much engagement meaning people responded -What’s our intention? Get a reaction!

Simple but effective.

No… blah…blah….no address of the property and the buyers are thinking which property is this?

Curiosity kicks in, sparks their attention and challenges their thinking. Go from ghosted to someone getting fascinated different.

By being different you are better. You begin to stand out in your marketplace and your prospects’ minds.

Once you begin to connect with your prospects in a different way, potential vendors or buyers it goes from a casual prospect to a loyal prospect.

By offering something different and not a similar way to your competitors you gain a whole different customer experience in a meaningful way.

So, here are some practical steps to stand out with your marketing.

Identify what makes you different: How can I be different in my marketing messages with potential vendors and buyers?

How do I position myself completely different to my competitors?

Be You: Don’t aim to be someone you are not. By being authentic it aligns you and your genuineness.

How you Communicate: Even though being different is good -be sure to be clear, concise and understandable with your text message, video SMS, email if you’re wanting to capture their attention.

If people are confused by your uniqueness that won’t engage.

Be consistent with your Difference: Make your marketing messages consistent through all your channels.

By reinforcing by being different helps build a strong identity in your marketplace.

I suggest that you look at breaking the mold and offer something way more fascinating to your customers that will engage and connect with you.

If you continue to do things the same old way you will be left behind and you will begin to lose more business.

Working harder making more calls, sending more texts and emails won’t get their attention, you will actually just continue to focus on your flaws.

Dare to be different and start doing things in your business with your customers that are worth paying attention to.
