They might be the United Kingdom’s most powerful family — but they still take family time very seriously.

According to the new book New King, New Court by royal biographer Robert Hardman, as reported by Hello! Magazine, Prince William and Princess Kate limit the staff numbers of their Adelaide Cottage home, located in Windsor.

“The couple did not seek to boost the staff numbers at Adelaide Cottage, not least because there would be little room to do so,” wrote Hardman, who noted that the “Kensington Palace team does include a ‘yeoman’, a multi-tasking attendant who looks after everything from luggage to uniforms, but there is no ‘gentleman’s gentleman’ on the staff.”

One source also told Hardman, “And certainly no butler,” adding, “It’s very much them at home with the kids.”

Family time has been a priority for the Prince and Princess of Wales following Kate’s battle with an undisclosed form of cancer — the pair share three children: Prince George, 11, Princess Charlotte, 9, and Prince Louis, 6. Kate, 42, announced her diagnosis in March.

In a recent interview with the U.K.’s The Times published on Sunday, November 10, William, 42, provided a promising update on his wife’s health. “I think, hopefully, Catherine will be doing a bit more next year,” he told the outlet. . “So, we’ll have some more trips maybe lined up.”

He added that as far as family trips go, they will need to work around everyone’s schedules. “Family-wise, you have to wait a little bit longer because obviously they’re at school and I think that takes priority [over] everything else,” he said.

On Sunday, Kate joined her husband and King Charles III for an appearance at London’s annual Remembrance Sunday service. The event honors the U.K.’s past military men and women and was one of Kate’s first major public events since she completed her chemotherapy treatment in September. Kate has attended the Remembrance Sunday ceremony every year since 2011.
