Good morning, and welcome to RedState’s “Morning Minute” — a brief glimpse at which stories are trending at the moment and a look ahead at what the day may bring. Consider this your one-stop shop for news to kickstart your day.
TOP O’ THE MORNIN’
After Bashing Half of America, Obamas and Clintons Now Issue Statements on ‘Grace’
I’m not ready to talk about grace and unity just yet, thanks. I am going to need a few days to gloat over this monstrous victory. We can talk later.
Inject Into My Veins: Pelosi Tosses Fit Over Harris Loss, Dems’ Disarray As Kevin O’Leary Finishes Them
Had they been honest about his problems to begin with months ago, they could have had time to have a normal primary and run a competent person — through the will of the people, not through the hands of the elite.
WATCH: Scott Jennings Drives the Final Spike Into the ‘Never Trump’ Campaign As Only He Can
Something equally delicious about the voter repudiation of these types of tactics on Tuesday will be that five or 10 years down the road and beyond, very few people will remember much about the NeverTrump movement.
WHAT’S ON TAP?
Today on Capitol Hill…
We’re still waiting on those final Senate race calls in Pennsylvania, Arizona, and Nevada. At the moment, thinks look favorable for Dave McCormick (R) to unseat Bob Casey (D) in Pennsylvania. In Arizona, Kari Lake (R) is down by 52,000+ votes to Ruben Gallego (D), with 74 percent of the vote counted. In Nevada, incumbent Democrat Jacky Rosen has edged ahead of Republican challenger Sam Brown by 12,700 votes, with 95+ percent of the vote counted. If things end up as they stand currently, that would hand the GOP a 53-47 seat majority. My suspicion is we’ll get those calls sometime on Thursday.
On the House side, it may still be a week or two before the final calls are made, particularly in Alaska with their Ranked Choice Voting, which, thankfully, they also voted down this time around, so will no longer be in effect after this. Currently, the Republicans have a 212 to 197 advantage. That leaves 26 seats to be decided, meaning the GOP only needs to pick up six of those to maintain the majority, while the Dems would have to pick up 21. Keep the fingers crossed.
White House What’s Up
President Joe Biden is set to deliver an address to the nation at 11:00 am Eastern to discuss the results of the election and the transition to the new administration. On Wednesday, Biden spoke with President-elect Donald Trump (as an aside, I’m so glad we can move past the “former” qualifier) to congratulate him on his victory and invite him to the White House to help ensure a “smooth transition.”
Post Mortem
Early Wednesday afternoon, Vice President Kamala Harris also called Trump to congratulate him, after which she delivered a rather airy, if somewhat lackluster, address to her supporters at Howard University. Punctuated by a squirrel (the ghost of P’Nut?) running across the stage just ahead of her remarks.
A freaking SQUIRREL just ran across the stage at Kamala’s Concession speech and everyone in the comments is yelling “Peanut!” 🤣😂 I’m done!

Full Court Press…
Is today the day? Will the New York appellate court finally hand down its decision in the Trump civil fraud appeal? Don’t hold your breath. But they might!
The big news on Wednesday is that Special Counsel Jack Smith is folding up shop and “winding down” his two prosecutions of Trump. And just like that…he was gone…

Former New York Mayor Rudy Giuliani is due in court on Thursday after missing a deadline to surrender his assets pursuant to the $148 million defamation judgment won against him by Georgia election workers Ruby Freeman and Wandrea “Shaye” Moss.
MORNING MUSING
So, it appears that, while virtually every demographic swung in Trump’s favor this time around, it’s Gen-X that really won the day. I’m not surprised. We’re old enough to have seen some…stuff and young enough to know we’ve got to live in this world for another few decades. I’m cautiously optimistic, but I keep reminding myself to temper that. The forces arrayed against meaningful (and positive) change are not going to go quietly into that good night. Let’s pray that being older and wiser pays off and Trump and his Team of Rivals can help set things back on course.
