No pun intended (okay maybe a little intended), Banana Republic really worked some wizardry on these jeans. As mentioned, the fit is so flattering on my body type, which totally boosts my confidence as I’m wearing them. They feature a high-rise waistline that smooths out my tummy, are fitted throughout my hips and thighs and have a wide leg design, which is so slimming to my thicker thighs. Made of a breathable and eco-friendly entirely regenerative cotton, they feel so smooth against my skin and I also love that it’s non-stretch, since I think the fitted look better accentuates my body.
As you can see, I got the jeans in the light wash, just like Gomez’s pick, but the jeans come in several other chic colors as well medium, dark and ecru. They’re all great picks, depending on what might be missing in your closet, but I knew I’d get the most use out of the light wash style. Another major benefit to the jeans and the brand as a whole is that they come in petite sizing, which is crucial for my short 5’3” self. I love getting them in my exact size so that I don’t have to deal with the hassle of going to a tailor — Banana Republic just gets that!
When it comes to styling the jeans with my closet, it’s so easy thanks to their versatile look. I took some inspiration from Gomez’s classic black sweater and matching heel look, but switched it up with white. I can picture myself wearing this outfit for casual lunches with friends and low-key weekend activities as well. However, I can also see myself wearing the jeans a bit more elevated too, like with a blazer and boots for date nights and fancy restaurant dinners.
