Phoenix police said they were investigating after a body was found near a park on Saturday morning.
Police officers responded to calls of an injured person near a park in the area of 23rd Avenue and Cactus Road in Phoenix, according to Sgt. Phil Krynsky.
When officers arrived, they found a man dead at the scene.
Phoenix police identified the man as 47-year-old Nazario Lopez-Felix on Sunday afternoon.
Investigators suspect foul play as Lopez-Felix was found with “suspicious trauma” to his body, according to police. It’s not known what kind of trauma he suffered.
Krynsky encouraged anyone with information regarding the incident to call Phoenix police or Silent Witness if they wish to remain anonymous at 480-WITNESS or 480-TESTIGO for Spanish.
