Turns out Scheana Shay wasn’t supposed to publicly discuss her Vanderpump Rules costar Katie Maloney‘s romance with Nick Martin.
Lala Kent joked about Scheana’s mistake during the Wednesday, October 30, episode of her “Give Them Lala” podcast, saying, “Scheana Shay was the one that confirmed Katie Maloney’s relationship. She told me, ‘I accidentally confirmed it.’”
Scheana, 39, realized after the fact that she shouldn’t have discussed Katie’s love life.
“[Katie and Nick] haven’t confirmed [their relationship] because what I read is he is going through a messy divorce and they have to keep it quiet,” Lala, 34, claimed while referencing Nick and Jenna Martin‘s marriage coming to an end.
Lala went on to compare Nick’s divorce to her dating now-ex-fiancé Randall Emmett while he was ending his marriage to Ambyr Childers, adding, “I am like, ‘Oh, this sounds like something I was called a whore for in the back alley of SUR. But who is remembering.”

While weighing in on Scheana’s comments, Lala lovingly called her friend “clueless” for letting the secret slip about Katie, 37, and Nick.
“I love her, [but] she lives in the clouds and doesn’t even realize it,” Lala said. “I don’t know if she was yelled at [after she revealed the information]. It is just very funny.”
Scheana originally gave Vanderpump Rules fans some insight into Katie’s new man — before her costar even confirmed the romance.
“I actually met him this weekend. We were all by the artist trailers in the hangout area, and he and Katie were walking up while I was standing at the taco truck in line getting food. I said hi to her,” Scheana recalled on the Friday, October 25, episode of her “Scheananigans” podcast. “She introduced me to her boyfriend.”

Scheana said she was aware that not everyone was thrilled with Nick, adding, “There’s been some things online recently. I’ve seen little bits and pieces. But let me tell you, he could not have been nicer.”
While reflecting on her run-in with Katie and Nick, Scheana expressed how “fun” their interaction was, adding, “He’s from San Diego and we just talked about that. Then I ran into them again later back at the hotel at the end of the night, and was just such a sweet guy. I caught the end of their set.”

She continued: “We actually left Fall Out Boy a little early because they were playing at the same time. But I wanted to check out Sleeping With Sirens. I wanted to see what the band was all about. They were really good.”
Katie has yet to publicly address her romance with Nick. Earlier this month, Katie revealed that she is seeing someone. “I have a boyfriend,” she shared on the October 16 episode of her and Dayna Kathan’s “Disrespectfully” podcast. “Yeah, I’m in love, everybody. I’m really happy.”
At the time, Katie chose not to name the mystery man.
“This weekend, I went to go see my boyfriend. He has to travel for work, so I went to go meet up with him and hang out with him and spend some time,” she said. “It was really amazing ’cause I hadn’t seen him in a few weeks and just being able to, like, spend some quality time and just be around him was really necessary and really nice. He’s the most wonderful person I’ve ever met. He’s very lovely and he just makes me feel really special and he’s really special and, yeah, I’m just really happy.”
