Cincinnati Bengals at New York Giants odds, expert picks, how to watch: Can Joe Burrow's team get going?

Two teams attempting to turn around sluggish starts play on Sunday night when the New York Giants host the Cincinnati Bengals. Gutsy road wins in two of the last three weeks have New York optimistic despite injuries at key positions. Suffering close early losses, Cincinnati sports a potent offense and a defense that needs an immediate overhaul. The Bengals are favored by a handful of points in this primetime matchup.

New York delivered a surgical win in Seattle without stud rookie receiver Malik Nabers and running back Devin Singletary. Quarterback Daniel Jones and rookie back Tyrone Tracy Jr. (129 rushing yards) helped the Giants dominate the clock for over 37 minutes of possession with short completions and consistent gains on the ground. Jones developed a consistent rhythm with receiver Darius Slayton (eight catches, 122 yards) and Wan’Dale Robinson (six catches, 36 yards).

Nabers and Singletary are out again. Against Cincinnati’s defense, which is 30th in rushing yards allowed per game and 31st in sack rate, Jones and Tracy Jr. could run back a similar playcalling profile as in the Week 5 win out west.

Joe Burrow and the Bengals passing attack makes Cincinnati a threat in any matchup. Burrow is dialed in with favorite targets Ja’Marr Chase and Tee Higgins. Chase (493 yards, 5 TDs) is off to a scorching start as one of the game’s elite deep threats. The Giants lead the NFL in sacks (22) and will attempt to keep the pressure on Burrow to slow him down.

New acquisition Zack Moss has underwhelmed (3.7 yards per carry) in the Bengals 28th-ranked rushing attack, and Chase Brown could see more touches. (Moss left the Week 5 game with an ankle injury, but it doesn’t look too serious.) Against a Giants defense ranked 30th in rushing yards per play, Cincinnati needs more on the ground to keep pressure off Burrow.
