We can see signs of the Democratic freak-out going on all around us, as they start to realize that maybe trading Joe Biden out for Kamala Harris wasn’t the best idea.

The most recent example is them dragging out Barack Obama to help Kamala in Pittsburgh. It showed how desperate they are. Even Obama admits there isn’t the same enthusiasm that there had been for him. He blames black male voters — the “brothas”– and suggests they have a problem with Harris because she is a woman.

You don’t start looking for excuses like that unless you think that your side is losing or in trouble. And the problem they have is that it isn’t just “the brothas” — it’s the union members, it’s the Latinos, it’s the young people, it’s people across all demographics. And it’s showing in the numbers, as the momentum starts to pick up for former President Donald Trump.

CNN’s Harry Enten laid it out, much to Democrats’ chagrin. As he phrased it, these numbers explained why Democrats were “bedwetting.”

“What is with all of this bedwetting among Democrats?” Enten inquired. “Maybe it’s an internal problem,” he quipped.

He said that the race had gotten much closer than it was three weeks ago in MI, PA, and WI, when Kamala Harris was up by 2.

Then Enten compared the numbers now to what the number were for Hillary Clinton in 2016 and Joe Biden in 2020 on Oct. 11 across MI, WI, and PA. That’s when you really get to see what trouble Kamala is in. He said “Hillary was way out in front,”  with an average number of 8 points over Trump. She lost. Biden was up 7 points–and it ended up very close.

Kamala is up 1 point, according to this analysis. This is what is making Democrats worry, Enten notes, because Harris is doing “considerably worse than either Biden or Clinton was.”

John Berman says that they then have to hope that the pols are right this time, meaning that they aren’t under-assessing Trump as they have in past years, but that’s a “thin reed” for Democrats to “base their hopes on.”

Enten also noted that 52 percent of Harris voters said they were going to be “angry” if Trump won; In the same polling, 42 percent of Trump voters said they would be angry if Harris won. I’m not sure I agree with that. I think maybe “angry” is the wrong word. here; the GOP wouldn’t term it as angry, as much as “worried” or “existentially concerned.” And if it is true that many Democrats would be angry, you would think that they would be more out for Kamala. But they’re not. So yes, some of the Democratic elite might be.

But, yes, the Democratic meltdowns when/if Trump wins are likely to be next level.

Recall in 2016 when Trump won, they tried to suborn the electors, even get them to vote for people other than Trump with all kinds of different possible schemes to unseat him. They even threatened the electors, even harassing them. Some Democrats objected to Trump during the vote in Congress to accept the electoral count. Then folks on the left also rioted on Jan. 20, 2017, and about 70 Democratic politicians boycotted the Trump inauguration.

I expect the anger now to be more pronounced, should Harris lose this time.
