Jacob Caine reappointed as REIV President

Jacob Caine has been reappointed as President of the Real Estate Institute of Victoria (REIV) for a second term.

The Announcement:

Jacob Caine has been reappointed as President of the Real estate Institute of Victoria (REIV) for a second term following a vote of REIV board members last night. 

A highly regarded real estate professional, long time REIV member and CEO of Ray White CRE, Mr Caine will continue to bring a wealth of experience across residential and commercial real estate and property management to the REIV helm. 

Other re-appointments made by the board include Sam Hatzistamatis, Head of Property Management Operations at Besser & Co as Senior Vice President, and Darren Pearce, Head of Property Management at RT Edgar Toorak as Vice President. 

Mr Caine said he was thrilled with the re-appointment and was keen to build on the foundations of his first term which saw REIV appoint its first female CEO, Kelly Ryan, acquire new facilities and launch vital communication tools and resources such as an integrated AI website and podcast. 

“I’m honoured to have the opportunity to continue as President of the REIV. It’s a time of transition and growth in the real estate industry and as the sector’s peak body, the REIV has a pivotal role to play in representing the needs and interests of all participants,” he said. 

In his first term as President of the REIV, Mr Caine has overseen a transformation agenda designed to ensure the peak industry body can effectively support and represent the dynamic and evolving real estate sector into the future. 

“2025 will continue to see the evolution of the REIV as the institute moves into its new home, expands and modernises its professional development and training curriculum, launches a new membership model, and expands its consultation and advice to the government and opposition on key policy initiatives,” he said. 

Anthony Molinaro, Licensed Estate Agent and Auctioneer from O’Brien Real Estate Blackburn and Damian Portaro, Managing Director of Ray White Mildura were elected as Directors. Past president Joseph Walton, a Director of Allard Shelton was welcomed back.

The board farewelled Renee Reynolds of Jellis Craig Geelong and Richard Simpson, a two-time past president and a Director of W.B. Simpson & Son, at the annual President’s dinner on Saturday 5th October.
