One of the played-out and completely useless exercises we have to endure each election cycle is the breathless reporting of who is endorsing which candidate. The networks and news outlets rush these announcements out with enthusiasm, reporting them with a vigor that carries an undertone of excitement. However, there’s a pathetic truth underlying this practice: Announced endorsements do absolutely nothing to sway voter support.
The truth is the only thing accomplished with these backings is they make the entrenched feel better about their established choice. Find for us a single person admitting they were truly undecided about their ballot until they heard that a notable figure or some entity lent its support to one candidate or another. Anyone revealing such would be displaying stark civic ignorance and it would be grounds to toss their voter ID in the shredder with the latest credit card pitch.
But these announcements endure, and during this particular election, the impotence of endorsements has become more pronounced. Those backing Harris have been touted even louder this year, it seems, and the earnestness in the heralding exposes the desperation her campaign has taken on in the past month. Rather than drawing people into her camp, it is repelling voters more than a goth hippie looking to find a seat in the high school cafeteria.
We were told it was of high import that former Vice President Dick Cheney was backing Harris. This news would only impress Never-Trump zealots. VP Dick has not been influential in any capacity in over a decade, and no Republican is questioning their position as a result of his endorsement. So Democrats think the man they once likened to The Devil is a great ally. This, of course, tracked with his daughter Liz also lending her support to Harris, a supposedly significant act. Democrat apple polisher Mary Bruce of ABC News pushed this endorsement as if it were an axis-shifting move.

This is sheer desperate insistence on the part of Bruce. How is it “astonishing” that the woman who has been mewling about Trump for eight years is not backing him today?! And sorry Mary, but Liz has long shed any relevance in the GOP to be referenced with “prominent.” She had her leadership stripped away years ago, and her constituents voted her out with such finality that she was run out of Wyoming faster than an FBI informant slung out the doors of a biker bar. She has been on a desperate Democrat approval tour for years and is a fixture on MSNBC. The only difficult choice a Republican faces due to Liz Cheney is about what channel to switch to when she appears on TV.
Also amusing was how many outlets rushed to report that famed rocker Bruce Springsteen was coming out with a video endorsement of Kamala. This is a prime example of the neutered aspect of these endorsements. Who is at all surprised by this? A celebrity worth $100 million is backing a Democrat?! This is as newsworthy as the alarm indicating a batch of french fries is ready at McDonalds.

To show the desperation behind the Harris campaign and the need felt to have Kamala supported by any entity, it was said she was being backed by a police organization. Not only does this not sway any voter, but it also has the opposite effect, as it shows the vacuousness of her campaign. In a purely astroturfed maneuver, a newly created group – The Police Leaders for Community Safety – not only supports Harris but claims it “normally backed Trump.” This is only slightly impossible, considering it was just created in June.
One of the more hilarious “shocking” endorsements comes from my state of Florida. The entirely ineffectual leader of the state Democratic Party, Nikki Fried, delivered the excitable news of another turncoat now supporting Kamala.

Okay, so who is Cardenas, and just how big of a deal is this??? You can place this declaration right there beside that of Liz Cheney. Cardenas has not been a factor in this state since at least 2016. He is another neutered Never-Trumper and has not been in any way influential within the state or the party since his tenure with Jeb Bush. He is currently a D.C. lobbyist, which means there is a likelihood his endorsement could have been purchased.
There is also another reason to completely laugh off this has-been Republican: He is married to none other than noted leftist in GOP clothing and one of the cackling hens on “The View” – Ana Navarro.
So now as you go to the polls, these endorsements should have you keeping something significant in mind: They mean absolutely nothing and amount to less than the empty grease-stained box of fries you toss into the trash as you walk into your local polling location.
