Kobbie Mainoo, Morgan Gibbs-White and Ezri Konsa have been ruled out of England’s upcoming Nations League games against Greece and Finland through injury.
Manchester United said Mainoo had been withdrawn from international duty as a “precaution” after being replaced 85 minutes into their goalless draw at Aston Villa on Sunday.
Villa’s Konsa sustained an injury in the opening stages of the same game was replaced by Diego Carlos.
The versatile defender had started all of Villa’s Premier League and Champions League matches this season and played the first hour of England’s win over Finland last month.
Nottingham Forest midfielder Gibbs-White is out after appearing to land awkwardly on his ankle after having a shot blocked on the edge of the area in his side’s 1-1 draw at Chelsea on Sunday. The attacking midfielder received treatment on the pitch before being replaced by Nicolas Dominguez.
Gibbs-White, 24, was handed his senior debut for England by interim manager Lee Carsely in the 2-0 win over the Republic of Ireland last month.
England have no plans to call up any additional players as replacements for the injured trio.
Captain Harry Kane, meanwhile, has been passed fit after having tests on a knock picked up in Bayern Munich’s 3-3 draw at Eintracht Frankfurt on Sunday.
England face Greece at home on Thursday in their third group-stage game in Nations League B Group 2. Carsley’s side then travel to Helsinki to play Finland on Sunday.
