Brisbane agent Peter Florentzos has been awarded the prestigious Sir Leslie Hooker Award at LJ Hooker Group’s international conference.

The Announcement:

LJ Hooker Group has unveiled the 2024 recipient of the Sir Leslie Hooker Award — the network’s most prestigious title named after its founder — at the iconic real estate group’s international conference held in Auckland last weekend.

Peter Florentzos, Director of LJ Hooker Property Partners, was elated to receive the top honour, which goes beyond sales and financial achievements to recognise an individual who represents the heart and soul of the organisation.

Described as a living breathing LJ Hooker ambassador, Mr Florentzos, has contributed to various aspects of the business since joining the network more than two decades ago, including mentoring up-and-coming agents.

“It was a very surreal moment to be named the winner of the Sir Leslie Hooker Award. I just felt incredibly proud to be recognised,” Mr Florentzos said.

“As I made my way to the stage, I had a lot of people congratulating and hugging me, which was fortunate because it allowed me to compose myself. I love being part of the LJ Hooker network and winning the award meant so much to me.”

Christine Mikhael, Chief Executive Officer of the LJ Hooker Group, congratulated Peter for his spirit of giving back and exemplifying the values that Sir Leslie Hooker himself championed.

“Peter is not just a leader in his office but also a role model within the LJ Hooker Group network as a guest trainer and mentor, generously sharing his expertise, guidance and support to others,” Ms Mikhael said.

“He understands continuous learning, always looking for new ways to expand his knowledge and improve skills. His influence goes beyond the office walls and has also helped his local community, supporting schools, sports clubs and charitable initiatives.”

Mr Florentzos joined LJ Hooker in 2001 after being encouraged by Peter Crowther, director of LJ Hooker Property Partners. Just six years later, he became a partner in the multi-award-winning Sunnybank Hills office, which was later rebranded as LJ Hooker Property Partners.

During his career, Mr Florentzos has auctioned over 650 properties with 90 per cent selling prior, at auction or shortly afterwards.

He is also a member of the Admiral Advisory Group (LJ Hooker industry leaders) and Platinum Life Membership of the Multimillion Dollar Chapter of the LJ Hooker Captains Club (Top 2.5% of network) and former winner of LJ Hooker Business Owner of the Year in 2019.

“It is hard to describe to people outside of the LJ Hooker network just what winning this award means, it is a huge highlight of my career,” Mr Florentzos said.

“The phone has been ringing with people congratulating me — even my mum was crying when I got back and showed her the award — but it is not about me, it is about my clients.

“My favourite saying is that real estate is all about customer care, not customer service.”
