The United Teachers of Los Angeles (UTLA) held their “Leadership Conference” August 1-3. These “educators” are supposed to be the bright lights at the forefront of progressive education. If you have paid attention to any news surrounding the Los Angeles area school districts and who they really are, you know they’re dim bulbs in charge of the indoctrination plans over K-12 school children, whether parents like it or not. With the increased rise of antisemitism in Los Angeles universities and the targeting of historically Jewish neighborhoods, the Israeli-American Civic Action Network (ICAN) has increased their advocacy for reform in the education space.

ICAN has been at the forefront of fighting against antisemitism in school curricula since the California “ethnic studies” curriculum was voted on in 2021 and approved in 2022 under shadow and cover. Along with incorporating bizarre Aztec chants and other nonsense that has little to do with ethnicity or heritage, the curriculum was riddled with antisemitic language and tropes, as well as pro-Palestine/Hamas programming. Sadly, their battle is far from over.

ICAN obtained an exclusive, leaked video from the UTLA conference and discovered that they are still laser-focused on seeding children with antisemitism and Jew-hatred, as well as strongly advocating for targeting Jewish teachers. In other words, for California education, it’s another day ending in “Y.”

Earlier this week, the Israeli-American Civic Action Network (ICAN) announced that it had acquired exclusive leaked footage from the annual UTLA Leadership Conference, which was held in Los Angeles at the Westin Bonaventure Hotel from August 1st to the 3rd, 2024.

On September 18th at 6 pm, ICAN broadcast the full leaked video from the UTLA Conference exclusively on X, unveiling for the first time the disturbing antisemitic and anti-Israel discussions, strategies, and tactics being promoted within the Los Angeles public school system by UTLA the Los Angeles public teachers’ union. The footage features several educators, including UTLA Board Member and Santee Education Complex teacher David Feldman, Ron Gochez of Maya Angelou Community High School, Guadalupe Carasco Cardona at the Roybal Learning Center, Will Shattuc at John Adams Middle School, and Ingrid Villeda, a teacher at 93rd Street Elementary.

The video, shared in its entirety, captures an hour of deeply alarming discussions that not only vilify the State of Israel and Jewish people but also promote strategies to integrate extreme antisemitic and anti-American political ideologies into public school classrooms, even targeting elementary school-aged children.

After the excessive California lockdowns, where Los Angeles schools were one of the last to open, UTLA President Cecily Myart-Cruz, who has been known to throw down stupid and racist comments, dismissed learning loss and said,

Our kids didn’t lose anything. It’s OK that our babies may not have learned all their times tables. They learned resilience. They learned survival. They learned critical-thinking skills. They know the difference between a riot and a protest. They know the words insurrection and coup.” She even went so far as to suggest darkly that “learning loss” is a fake crisis marketed by shadowy purveyors of clinical and classroom assessments.

This is the same brain trust that doubled down on COVID restrictions and policies, even though the CDC and the White House had loosened them, spied on parents, and mounted strikes to close down the schools again because teachers were not protected enough. This insane asylum births these types of policies that get rubber-stamped and then embedded into education.

And you wonder why California spends more money (read: funds the unions) but is dead last in educational outcomes.

If interested, the full leaked video with ICAN editorialization is here.
