If one thing stood out in Donald Trump’s one-on-three debate with Kamala Harris and the ABC moderators, it was Harris’ constant mugging, disapproving facial expressions, and endless reproving smirks. To some, it was effective, to others it reminded them of an endlessly nagging spouse or always-annoyed teacher. Count me in the latter group.

People noticed:

While the moderators constantly interrupted the former president and fact-checked him relentlessly, they let Harris lie freely without challenge. The more she realized the game was rigged, the more she smirked like an obnoxious Mean Girl.

Kamala Shamelessly Lied Her Head Off Throughout the Debate

But facts didn’t matter to the vice president:

Instead of substantive policy issues she’d rather pretend she was in a high-school play:

These sorts of shenanigans may win over liberal Chardonnay moms, vapid Swifties and the MSNBC fangirls, but will they work against Vladimir Putin and Xi Jinping? I don’t imagine so.

The “debate” was an absolute disgrace for journalism and will only cause thinking Americans to trust corporate media even less, if that’s possible. What is clear, however, is these charades cannot be allowed to continue—conservatives must find an alternative to these rigged events where they are sandbagged by liberal hacks and condemned to failure before the lights are even turned on. While we’ve seen them put the thumb on the scales before—see Candy Crowley—Tuesday night was the most unabashedly naked media partisanship on the world stage that I have ever seen.

Kamala can mug all night—which she did—but the reality is that progressives have mugged our wallets and our futures. “Annoyed mom” expressions” won’t solve the border, the economy or the overseas wars. For the shallow progressives, however, it’s all really “cute.”
