Taylor Sheridan, co-creator of the Western juggernaut Paramount franchise Yellowstone, just added yet another ranch to his real estate portfolio, which encompassed hundreds of thousands of acres even prior to his most recent purchase. According to TMZ, the Texas-raised writer, producer, director, and actor is the new owner of a $4.95 million, 179-acre sprawl in Star Valley, Wyoming, dubbed Papa’s Creek Ranch. Sheridan also owns two ranches in the Lone Star State: the famed Four Sixes Ranch, which spans over 266,000 acres and has been featured in Yellowstone, and Bosque Ranch, a 600-acre property which has served as a filming location for Yellowstone and its prequels 1883 and 1923.

Located 65 miles from Jackson Hole, Papa’s Creek Ranch features unobstructed mountain views and two winding streams, which the listing touts as ideal environs for trout fishing and waterfowl hunting. The land appears to be completely undeveloped, so the Sicario writer has a blank canvas if he decides to build anything on the scenic plot. Per TMZ’s unnamed source, Sheridan wasn’t the only Hollywood-affiliated prospective buyer; actor Michael Keaton apparently also toured the property.

According to a June 2023 interview with The Hollywood Reporter, the North Carolina native had planned to retire from showbiz before renewing his lucrative deal with Paramount to help finance the purchase of Four Sixes, which was listed for about $348 million when he scooped it up in 2021. “It’s a love affair with the land of West Texas,” the Wind River writer and director told Fort Worth Magazine in 2022. “There’s a tremendous amount of discipline that it takes to build a ranch like this. It takes strength, excellence, integrity, and faith, and that’s the main mission statement of the ranch. We’re going to live up to that.”

It’s unclear what Sheridan, who lives in Texas with his wife, model and actor Nicole Muirbrook, and their 13-year-old son, plans to do with his new Wyoming ranch—but we wouldn’t be surprised if it shows up on the small screen.
