Fun fact: The song I’ve heard most at OVO Athletic Centre, the Toronto Raptors’ practice facility, is “September” by Earth, Wind, and Fire.
No complaints. Rolling Stone ranked it the 65th best song of all time in 2021. It was Nick Nurse, who famously passed around AMJ bracelets (April, May, June) in advance of the Raptors’ championship season who was a huge fan of the song, and it was a fixture as the media came in to do its work after the team’s practices — especially in training camp and the preseason.
Which is to say: It’s September, y’all. With the kids back in school and the Blue Jays doing whatever they have been doing for the last month, it is OK to get back to thinking about the Raptors. Whether you want to think about the past, the present or the future, I’m opening up the mailbag for Raptors questions. We’ll dive into some answers next week.
Let’s NBA!
