Jayden Meghoma is undergoing a medical at Brentford ahead of proposed permanent transfer from Southampton.

Brentford are finalising a deal for the 18-year-old left-back for a total package in the region of £10million.

A four-year contract has also been agreed for the promising England youth international.

Meghoma joined Southampton on an initial scholarship deal from Tottenham Hotspur in 2022 before signing a first professional deal in July 2023.

A regular for the club’s B team he has had limited opportunities in the first team, having made his debut in the EFL Cup against Gillingham last August.

Presently, Southampton have three left-backs ahead of Meghoma, who was left out of the pre-season trip to Spain, including Ryan Manning, Charlie Taylor and Juan Larios.

Meghoma will become Brentford’s fourth signing of the summer window following Fabio Carvalho, Sepp van den Berg and Gustavo Nunes.

Ivan Toney is set to depart the club with a deal agreed for the England international to move to Al Ahli in Saudi Arabia.
