The Announcement:

X Commercial has announced the appointment of Angus Morrison as Director of Eastern Suburbs.

Mr Morrison, the current Chairman of the Commercial Chapter of the Real Estate Institute of NSW, has been a prominent figure in Eastern Suburbs commercial sales and leasing for the past seven years.

X Commercial CEO Daniel O’Brien said the Eastern Suburbs is one of the 10 major metropolitan commercial locations in NSW where the company aims to open an office.

“The first step for us was to secure a driven and ambitious professional to drive this growth and eventually own this office and I am proud to say Angus is exactly the type of high calibre person we have been looking for,” Mr O’Brien said.

Mr Morrison expressed his enthusiasm for the new role.

“I was attracted to the model offered to assist me to eventually open a new X Commercial Eastern Suburbs office,” Mr Morrison said.

“Having known Daniel for several years, we share similar values and work exceptionally well together.

“This new, exciting, and fresh brand, with its modern and unique agency offering, is precisely what I want for my clients.”

Mr O’Brien added that the company is actively targeting commercial agency businesses to acquire in the Eastern Suburbs and Beaches.

“Expanding our current foot-print into these 10 major markets is our plan over the next 3 years,” he said.

“Angus will be the owner and Managing Director of this franchise office once we acquire the right business.”

Since its launch in July 2021, X Commercial has seen remarkable growth, now operating five offices across Sydney with imminent plans to expand interstate.

The company averages 350 sales and leasing deals annually and manages more than 1,900 property assets, with combined assets under management valued at $3.5 billion across Sydney.

Mr Morrison said there was a lot of value in the X Commercial model for current franchises or boutique independent business owners.

“It boasts a talented team of agents and advisors, an excellent team culture, and clear and capable leadership,” he said.

“Initially I will be focused on both growing our market share in the East and acting as Head of Business Development adding to our number of Assets under Management.

“The Asset Management department is organically growing rapidly, and I will be continuing to drive this growth.”
