Bournemouth have agreed a deal worth in the region of €47million (£40.3m; $51.7m) to sign striker Evanilson from Porto.

The Premier League side are in the market for a forward to replace Dominic Solanke after the Englishman completed a £65m move to Tottenham Hotspur.

Evanilson, 24, has spent the last four seasons at Porto, scoring 60 goals and providing 21 assists in 154 games for the Portuguese side.

Bournemouth had also targeted Arsenal’s Eddie Nketiah as a potential Solanke replacement.

Evanilson joined Porto in September 2020 Tombense and the Brazil international broke into the Porto senior team during the 2021-22 campaign.

Last season, he had his most prolific campaign to date, scoring 25 goals and providing seven assists in 42 games. Four of those strikes came in the Champions League as Porto reached the round of 16.

He has won six trophies with Porto including three Portuguese Cups and the Liga Portugal in 2022.

His form led to him earning his first of his two senior caps for Brazil in June 2024 and he was included in Dorival Junior’s provisional squad for the 2024 Copa America tournament.

Bournemouth begin their Premier League season against Nottingham Forest at the City Ground on Saturday.
