Erie Gives’ 24-hour fundraising campaign Tuesday brought in millions of dollars in donations.
The Erie Gives website on Wednesday morning listed a preliminary and unofficial total raised of $6,626,885 from 29,984 donations for 513 nonprofits.
Last year, Erie Gives set a record for the 13th consecutive year, raising $8,269,362 for 492 nonprofits.
The Erie Community Foundation will be counting numbers for weeks. However, the foundation updates its leaderboard frequently with donations received.
As of 8 a.m. Wednesday, the United Way of Erie County led the board with a total of $326,925 from 100 gifts.

The other nine leading organizations have all received more than $114,000 each.
Leaders as of 8 a.m., along with the amounts they’ve received, include the following:

Foundation for Free Enterprise Education/Pennsylvania Free Enterprise Week: 152 donations, $263,633 total.

Erie Philharmonic: 267 donations, $187,200 total.

Second Harvest Food Bank: 738 donations, $166,803 total.

Erie City Mission: 885 donations, $165,910 total.

Women’s Care Center of Erie County: 292 donations, $152,121 total.
When will Erie Gives totals be official?
The total numbers will grow as the count continues for the next few weeks. Official results of Erie Gives 2024 will be announced in September.

All numbers online are preliminary until the official count is posted in September.
How will organizations receive donations?
Each nonprofit will receive their donations by check from the Erie Community Foundation within a month of Erie Gives.
