As of 3 p.m. Saturday, the City of Savannah released more information concerning rising flood waters due to the Ogeechee River spilling over its banks.
The latest notice stated that the city’s “stormwater modeling indicates that street flooding in the Bradley Point and Villages of Vallambrosia area is likely to increase by up to another 12 inches before water levels begin to recede.”
The statement advised residents in Fords Pointe, Teal Lake, Bush Road and Rice Mill to monitor conditions because peak water levels will not be reached until Monday or possibly Tuesday.
Officials anticipate that several days may pass before flooding on Bradley Blvd. will recede and it will remain closed until water levels fall below 12 inches.

The city once again cautioned residents against attempting to drive on closed roads and informed that it has stationed emergency resources at Fire Station 12, 1205 Bradley Blvd.
Anyone impacted by flooding and in need of assistance can call 912-925-4866.
The Savannah Police and Fire Departments plan to setup an “emergency outpost” in Bradley Point. The American Red Cross also plans to provide resources.
Chatham County has made Coastal Georgia Comprehensive Academy, 2001 Cynthia St. a shelter for anyone impacted by the flooding.
