A regular segment of former President Donald Trump’s massive rallies has been touting the fact that he will debate the Democrats’ chosen standard-bearer at any time or place they throw at him.
When Trump called a press conference at Mar-a-Lago on Thursday afternoon, that was among the topics he highlighted to show a contrast with Democrat nominee and Vice President Kamala Harris.

In the presser, Trump broke news by sharing that there were three dates for 2024 presidential debates practically completely negotiated–at least, by his campaign:
The former president then announced three agreed-upon debate dates, wherein he will face Vice President Harris; Trump stated that the Harris campaign “may or may not” agree to the terms of the debates. The dates Trump mentioned were September 4th (Fox), September 10th (NBC), and September 25th (ABC.)

He also said that JD Vance and Tim Walz could debate at a debate for the vice presidential picks on CBS.
Now, we have a new update that at least one debate will happen between the two nominees in Sept., and where it’s happening may surprise some supporters:
PALM BEACH, Fla. (AP) — ABC says both Donald Trump and Kamala Harris have agreed to a Sept. 10 presidential debate, setting up a face-off between the Republican and Democratic nominees.
The announcement Thursday came shortly after Trump told a news conference that he had proposed three presidential debates with three television networks, saying he agreed on certain dates in September.
The follow-up debate of Trump versus Biden was scheduled to happen on ABC, but the former president rejected the notion that he should automatically agree to the same terms once Kamala Harris became the presumed Dem nominee; he also mentioned that there was pending litigation against the network. We’ll see if more details come out on why it’s taking place, along with the announcement of the location.
