Sen. Mark Kelly (D-AZ) had a lot of people stirred up over two posts that he made on Sunday. Kelly is on the shortlist of people being vetted to be Kamala Harris’ running mate, and the posts sparked a lot of comment.
First, he posted the following tweet, which was later deleted.

“My background is a bit different than most politicians. I spent my life serving in the Navy and at NASA, where the mission always comes first. Now, my mission is serving Arizonans.”
Some, like MSDNC, then thought that was an indication he was no longer in the running mate race.
UPDATE: Kelly’s post has now been deleted.
Sen. Mark Kelly posted on X saying “Now, my mission is serving Arizonans.”
It’s unclear what this means for his status in Vice President Kamala Harris’ veepstakes. A source familiar with the process said earlier that Kelly was meeting… pic.twitter.com/Q0R4Kjvhxp

But then, just as people were thinking that, he deleted it and then posted this. Notice no mention of “Arizonans,” this time he was talking about when your “county asks you to serve.”
Whether it was from my time in the Navy and at NASA, serving in the United States Senate, or visiting our troops overseas: I’ve learned that when your country asks you to serve, you always answer the call. pic.twitter.com/pugQf8zCV5

Then that had people wondering, particularly since he deleted the prior one, if he was the pick and he had been meeting with Harris. The bottom line would be it isn’t his “country” asking him if he is the pick; it’s a seriously flawed replacement candidate who didn’t get one primary vote for the position and who was subbed in after the elected candidate was forced out.
And whoever Harris picks, the policies she has have been and will be bad. We can see that even now, as the fears of recession are causing a meltdown of the markets as we speak.

Some also pointed out Kelly’s negatives, including this:

An Arizona senator tweeting about being an Arizona senator is not news!
Go back to your Sundays everybody! https://t.co/IdI4xe6fN7

However, folks weren’t buying that, pointing out how Kelly had actually deleted the “Arizonans” tweet, so Peters’ comment was a bit off.
Once again, just like with the Philly Mayor video post suggesting it was Pennsylvania Gov. Josh Shapiro, it looks like you have a festival of Democratic confusion over something that should be very simple and straightforward.
But when it comes to Harris and the Democrats, what we have is a failure to communicate.
