West Ham United had a verbal offer in the region of £15million for N’Golo Kante rejected by Al Ittihad on Thursday (July 18).
The Premier League side retain a strong interest in but their Saudi counterparts have no intention of selling the France international midfielder.
Any proposal would need to be upwards of £25m for Al Ittihad to even entertain the possibility.
Both the club and Saudi Pro League hierarchy are extremely fond of Kante and see him as a key figure in the immediate and longer term.
Kante, 33, is said to be happy at Al Ittihad and will join their training camp ahead of the new season following a post-Euro 2024 break.
The former Leicester City player joined Al Ittihad from Chelsea last summer — ending a seven-year spell at Stamford Bridge — and scored four goals across 46 appearances in the 2023-24 campaign.
Kante impressed for France at this summer’s European Championship, starting all six of their games as Didier Deschamps’ men reached the semi-finals, where they lost 2-1 against Spain.
