A major Democratic donor conveyed a grim message to Joe Biden: donors’ patience was wearing thin. According to an exclusive article in Semafor, film producer and Biden confidant Jeffrey Katzenberg told Biden Wednesday during a visit to Las Vegas, “The president’s donors’ patience is wearing thin, and their cash soon will, too.”

Katzenberg, one of Biden’s closest counselors and a conduit to moneyed circles in media and finance, told the president that major donors, doubtful of his ability to win in November, have all but stopped writing the kind of big checks that sustain campaigns in the home stretch, people familiar with the meeting said. One of the people said the donor warning came in a broader discussion of other campaign topics.

After this story was published, Katzenberg said in a statement that it was a “misread of a private meeting” and that he and Biden “talked about everything from the convention to new ads. And by the way, we will raise the money we need to run a winning campaign.”

James Carville added his two cents, “Donors in revolt.”

This meeting finished up not long before Biden was discovered to have “COVID,” and stumbled away to Delaware.

Note that even though Biden has allegedly tested positive for COVID, he’s not wearing a mask, and neither is anyone else. This is in an environment where you can drive down any highway in the nation today and find some numbskull in a car, alone, wearing a mask.

I can’t imagine a scenario in which the Biden White House would not have had the entire party masked.

Biden’s campaign is not in any danger of running out of money. In the last quarter, Biden-Harris raised $240 million, while Trump raised $285 million. However, donors backing away will cause a cash crunch in the last stages of the campaign and will cost some Senate and House seats.
