MSNBC being MSNBC. You know what that means.
Whether it’s “Morning Joe” simp Joe Scarborough or his wife and co-host Mika Brzezinski making total fools out of themselves, or race-hustler extraordinaire Joy Reid going off her rails on yet another hateful, racist rant, the infotainment network is always good for a laugh. And the best part is the cartoonish cast of characters’ total lack of self-awareness while beclowning themselves.
Saturday’s entertaining episode of MSNBC’s “The Weekend” was no different.
The host, and guests alike, absurdly lashed out at Democrats and members of the liberal media who have finally come to the conclusion that it’s time to stick a fork in mumbling and bumbling Joe Biden, who in just ten days has become a dead man walking. First, Biden’s disastrous debate performance on June 27 was worse than I expected. Then, his equally disastrous interview with ABC’s George Stephanopoulos, which aired Friday, was almost hard to watch.
Anyway, Jennifer Horn, a co-founder of the Trump-loathing Lincoln Project, who was forced to resign in the wake of a sex scandal with fellow co-founder John Weaver, kicked off the festival of attacks against Democrats who are calling on Biden to exit the presidential race, (emphasis, mine).
I would suggest that the response of that very small number of Democrats that have really come out after the president, and some of the media folks that have really come down on him since the, since the election [sic, presumably “debate’] have done more damage and more harm than the president himself did during that debate.
That… was delusional.
Biden’s steadily increasing cognitive decline couldn’t be more evident. And the “very small number of Democrats” is increasing steadily, with reports of multiple House Democrats, and multiple Senate Democrats discussing the future of Biden’s presidential campaign.
Horn’s delusion continued:
For me, and millions of Americans like me, this election is about the future of our country … It is naive to think that at this point in the process, you can switch candidates and still defeat Donald Trump.
Translation: 81-year-old, mentally-deteriorating Biden, whose condition will only worsen, thinks Horn, has a better chance to beat Trump than a replacement candidate. Makes total sense, right?
Next up, Michael Steele, lieutenant governor of Maryland from 2003 to 2007 and chair of the Republican National Committee from 2009 until 2011, who was particularly entertaining in his agitated state.
I really wish [sighs], I really wish Democrats would understand exactly what they’re doing right now to their opportunity this November, four months from now. They, I just have never seen such an absolute creation of a wasteland around a candidate by his own people.
See what I mean? Other than delusional, what can you call Steele’s take? It only got worse.
So you’ve got Senator Mark Warner trying to organize a group of Democratic senators [quoting from an NBC News article] to meet next week to discuss what to do amid concerns about Biden’s electability and the potential for a drag on down-ballot races for the House and Senate, four sources familiar with the outreach told NBC News on Friday.
You [Warner] trashed Kamala Harris for the last three years, right? So a lot of folks in the electorate and certainly within the party say, I don’t think I want to do that. Now you’re trashing the president and you’re going to have another meeting now with senators.
Other than whine, Steele offered zero evidence to the contrary against the growing number of Democrat lawmakers who are terrified of the prospect of Biden remaining in the race. Then this:
What the hell are these people thinking is going to happen when you turn into September, and whether it’s Kamala Harris at the top of the ticket at that point, or Joe Biden, or, I don’t know, pick a rando [sic, presumably slang for random] Democrat and make them the nominee.
What do you think the Republicans are going to do with that? They don’t have to — the only commercials they have to do are run the stupid things that are being said now.
Memo to Michael Steele: What do you think the Republicans are going to do with Joe Biden if Democrats just sit back and pretend that the mentally deteriorated guy is just fine?
Host Symone Sanders-Townsend, who served as Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders’s 2016 presidential campaign national press secretary, focused on Biden’s interview with Stephanopoulos.
George Stephanopoulos asked the president, if he stays in, and Trump is elected and everything you’re worryig about comes to pass, how will you feel in January? We do have the sound so I’m going to play it for you and get your reaction on the other side.
Stephanopoulos: Mr. President, I’ve never seen a President with 36% approval get re-elected.
Biden: Well, I don’t believe that’s my approval rating. That’s not what our polls show.
Stephanopoulos: And if you stay in, and Trump is elected, and everything you are warning about comes to pass, how will you feel in January?
Biden: I’d feel that as long as I gave it my all and did the goodest [sic] job as I know I can do, that’s what this is about.
Biden was clearly in denial.
Biden Gets Decimated by Responses to Trainwreck Interview—the Pic That Says It All
The already-declined and continuing-to-decline president of the United States appears incapable of understanding that the November presidential election is, or should be, about what’s best for the country and the American people, not him or any one person — regardless of whether he’s done the “goodest” job he could.
Meanwhile, MSNBC continues to be MSNBC.
