Police have identified the suspect killed during Tuesday’s hours long standoff in northwest Oklahoma City.

Around 9:15 a.m. Tuesday, Oklahoma City police responded to a call at home near NW 36th Street and North Pennsylvania Avenue where 22-year-old Kavon Ragan was reportedly pointing a gun at another person inside the home.

According to an incident report from the police department, officers engaged with Ragan from across the street where he was on his front porch.

They attempted to speak with Ragan to de-escalate the situation, according to the report, but Ragan refused to follow orders, continuing to go in and out of the home.

Shortly after, Ragan reportedly began firing at the officers, wounding Sgt. Joshua Scott who was transported to a hospital by another officer. Ragan continued to fire randomly at law enforcement on scene and refused to surrender peacefully.

An unnamed member of the U.S. Marshals Task Force and two OKCPD officers, Sgt. Clint Music and Sgt. Matthew Gilmore, returned fire. Those officers have been placed on routine administrative leave pending the outcome of the investigation, according to the department.
