Regrets….I’ve had a few.

In real estate, like in life, we often strive for perfection, shunning mistakes, and seeing regrets as signs of failure.

But what if we took a moment to look back, to learn from our regrets, and to let those reflections guide us to even greater heights?

Inspired by Daniel H. Pink’s book, The Power of Regret: How Looking Backwards Moves Us Forwards, let’s take a fresh look at the doldrums of regret.

Viewing it not as a pitfall  but a springboard for introspection, learning, and ultimately, improvement.

By embracing our regrets, we can gain invaluable insights and turn past missteps into future strategies.

With that in mind I have been a little cheeky and reimagined Frank Sinatra’s iconic song My Way for our real estate community.

My Way (The Real Estate Remix)

And now, the deals are done,
We faced it all, we’ve overcome,
Our journey’s had its highs and lows,
But through it all, our passion shows.

We sold the dream, with pride and grace,
Helped families find their perfect place,
And now we see, with clearer eyes,
The power lies in past goodbyes.

Regrets, we’ve had a few,
But then again, they’ve taught us too,
We faced the falls, we learned to rise,
We used the past to realise,
We did it our way.

Each missed deal, each broken plan,
Made us better, helped us understand,
That every setback, every scar,
Brought us closer to who we are.

We chased the leads, we closed the sales,
Turned empty lots to fairy tales,
Through every step, we found our strength,
The journey’s worth, its full length.

Regrets, we’ve had a few,
But then again, they’ve taught us too,
We faced the falls, we learned to rise,
We used the past to realise,
We did it our way.

For what is real estate, what have we got?
If not the lessons that life has brought,
To face the past, to see its worth,
To use regrets to fuel rebirth.

So here’s to us, to every stride,
We learned to trust, to turn the tide,
Never irresponsible,
We make it possible,
And did it ourrrrrr wayyyyyyyy.

So, next time a regret surfaces, don’t push it away.

Dive into it, dissect it, and let it guide you to a more successful and resilient real estate career.

After all, our greatest triumphs often rise from the ashes of our past mistakes.

As Sinatra sang, “Regrets, I’ve had a few, but then again, too few to mention.”

Let’s turn those few into the fuel that drives us forward… and do it our way.
