Independent presidential candidate Robert F. Kennedy Jr. told Piers Morgan that he believes former President Donald Trump is the “greatest debater in modern American history” while casting doubt that CNN hosts Jake Tapper and Dana Bash will ask either candidate tough questions because of their support for both administrations’ COVID-era policies. Kennedy said Tapper and Bash were “cheerleaders” for COVID lockdowns.
On some of the biggest, most monumental decisions during their presidency, like the lockdown of the American public, the CNN announcers were cheerleaders for those lockdowns.
He continued, mentioning the trillions spent during the pandemic-era.
That shifted $4.3 trillion in wealth to this new oligarchy of billionaires, that destroyed the middle class in this country, that shut down 3.3 million businesses with no due process — our churches made us wear masks.
Jake Tapper was cheerleading for that. So do you think he’s gonna ask them any of the tough questions?
Morgan interrupted, saying he does believe Tapper and Bash will ask Trump and Biden tough questions.
You know what? I actually do. I think Jake’s a great journalist. I’ve worked with him for CNN, I think Dana Bash is, too. I think that, yeah, of course they can. I think they’ll actually do a very good job.

The term “journalist” continues to be used loosely because no real journalist would compare Trump to Hitler, fantasize over the former president every single day during the majority of their show, and fail to maintain the same level of scrutiny when reporting on Biden.
Morgan asked Kennedy who he believes will win the debate, and Kennedy responded: “I don’t like to make predictions, but I would predict that Trump will win.”
He could win a prize for the greatest debater in modern American history, probably since Lincoln-Douglas.
I’m saying that based upon watching him run through 16 Republicans one at a time [in 2016] and just demolish them. He’s extremely entertaining to watch. He has an ability to make up facts and then believe them absolutely — and to sell them to the crowd.
He’s a brilliant entertainer and nothing fazes him. I don’t think it’s possible for President Biden to beat him in that debate.
Trump is unpredictable on the debate stage and quick to throw punches, as we saw during the 2016 GOP primary, the 2016 debate against Hillary Clinton, and the 2020 debate against Biden.

Morgan continued, asking Kennedy if he believed the DNC would replace Biden in the event of a “train wreck” debate; he said:
I think that’s possible. The convention would be the place to do it. They have the super-delegates who are in line, basically. And they are the ones who would choose the next nominee. So I think, you know, they would probably — some of them would welcome that chance.
It will be interesting to see if the questions asked by the moderators will be fair and balanced and whether they will be softball or tough questions. Hopefully, it will be a one-on-one debate mainly about policy so the undecided voters get a good idea of who they would want to lead the country for the next four years.
