President Joe Biden’s campaign has announced his next “Real President of Genius” move. When the verdict comes in for the New York Donald Trump lawfare case, where, as I said before, there is no actual crime, and even if there were a crime, it would still be all about sex, Joe Biden “plans to break his vow of silence and publicly address” the verdict “in a White House setting — not a campaign one — to show his statement isn’t political.” Further:
If the jury convicts Trump, Biden’s team will then argue that the result shows Trump is ill-suited for office and that it demonstrates the extremes to which the former president would go to win again. The campaign’s social media team is considering leveraging the line of attack further, with discussions underway about referring to the ex-president online as “Convicted Felon Donald Trump.”
Sometimes, it is hard to fathom the stupidity of the Biden campaign. As I said a month ago, the New York case is a “historic mistake” by the Democrats and Biden – a Biden former Department of Justice plant is clearly directing it – and as we have seen from the polling, the ridiculously biased case has actually “backfired spectacularly on the Democrats” and is helping Donald Trump to a consistent lead in the Presidential polling.
There are, of course, three possible outcomes – “guilty,” “not guilty,” or a hung jury. If Trump is found “guilty” by the heavily biased Democrat jury, Biden and his crack crew of political consultants really believe that Biden speaking about it at the White House and calling Trump a “convict” is going to be perceived as non-political and will ignite a voter rebellion against Donald Trump in the 2024 election.
Where is Biff Tannen when you need him? “Hello, hello, anybody home? Hey, think Joe, think!”
I realize that some polls have shown that some voters may be concerned if Donald Trump becomes a felon. But 1) some of these people are Never Trumpers, and 2) I, and elections expert Tom Bevan, simply don’t believe that when push comes to shove, objective swing voters or Trump supporters will react that way.
Instead, I believe the average, objective swing voter is almost certainly going to think the following things about a “guilty” verdict in the New York trial.

I guess Donald Trump cheated on his wife.

He then paid off the porn star to keep him out of hot water with said wife.

He used an NDA, which I know is used by all sorts of businesses.

I don’t understand why this is a campaign bookkeeping felony. This doesn’t even sound illegal or campaign-related.

Even if it is illegal, it is a stupid case and all about sex. Didn’t the Democrats say that Bill Clinton shouldn’t be punished for sex?

The Democrats are clearly doing this to hurt Trump politically.

Joe Biden seems senile and corrupt, the economy is terrible, with bad inflation, the border is non-existent, the world is in chaos, as are our college campuses, and Biden wants to distract us by focusing on this stupid sex case.
And Trump supporters will believe all of this even more strongly.
Are any of these thoughts really going to help Joe Biden at the ballot box in 2024?

The problem Joe Biden, his campaign, and the left in general are facing is that they have a bad case of confirmation bias. This is a person’s “tendency to process information by looking for, or interpreting, information that is consistent with their existing beliefs. This biased approach to decision making is largely unintentional, and it results in a person ignoring information that is inconsistent with their beliefs.” The left really believes that Donald Trump is the Devil, and everything that happens to him demonstrates to them the truth of their belief, which they want to share with everyone else.
They are also desperate. Unlike in 2020, Joe Biden has been consistently behind Donald Trump in the polling, both national and state-to-state, for about a year now. And he needs to be ahead by three points to win in the electoral college.
And boy, are the Democrats going to be sorry if Joe Biden acts based on his and other leftists’ confirmation bias and their desperation. Because every time he brings up the case, he is going to remind the Trump supporters — and the average objective swing voters — of what this case means to them, which is not good for the Biden campaign.
And what happens if the jury somehow manages to return a “not guilty” verdict, or there is a hung jury? Well, then the average, objective swing voter will be thinking:

The Democrats couldn’t even convict Trump. They are incompetent morons who can’t even rig their own case.
Once again, the Trump supporters will believe this even more strongly.
What’s funny is the Democrats are probably going to be better off if the verdict is “not guilty” or there is a hung jury. Why? Because the average, objective, swing voters will only be reminded of Democrat stupidity once, when the verdict is announced. If it is “guilty,” then they will be reminded about this stupidity whenever Trump’s status as a felon comes up, or Trump talks about it, or the Democrats crow about it.
The Democrats are clearly in a hole right now, and they really should stop digging. But they are deluded and desperate, so they can’t, and they won’t. This could cost them bigly in the election.
