HARVEYS LAKE, LUZERNE COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — Tuesday was the kickoff for the 29th Annual Grotto Pizza Parade of Trees in Harveys Lake.
People from the community came out to decorate Christmas trees with different themes.
The event raises money for local charities.
So far, it’s raised over 500 thousand dollars over its 29-year run.
Officials, volunters give out free turkeys in Scranton
“It’s amazing. Harvey Lake is a very well-known lake location and we get to see all of the community come in and also celebrate for the holidays,” said Marketing Assistant Sarah Henninger.
“We’re so grateful, there’s such wonderful volunteers that are raising money for our organization. I am just raising awareness. That’s where they’re very important for our organization about raising awareness,” Victims Resource Center Chief Executive Officer Suzanne Beck said.
If you stop by, you can vote for your favorite tree and maybe even win a prize.
The trees will be on display in the main dining room through New Year’s Eve.
