NASCAR fans will find plenty of familiarity in the viewing experience today as the Daytona 500 returns to Fox for the 22nd time. Fox and FS1 also broadcasted the practice and qualifying sessions from Daytona this week as is customary.
But that viewing experience will chance in a big way as the 2025 NASCAR season progresses, with two new rightsholders joining — which means more channel-switching, and more streaming subscriptions, will be necessary to follow all the action. (Fans we surveyed aren’t exactly thrilled.) The Athletic’s Jeff Gluck breaks that allotment down:
“The premier Cup Series races will be split between returning partners Fox Sports (Fox, FS1) and NBC Sports (NBC, USA Network) as well as new partners Amazon Prime and TNT. All Xfinity Series races, qualifying sessions and practices will be shown on The CW and all Craftsman Truck Series events will be on Fox/FS1. Cup practice and qualifying sessions will be streamed on Amazon (first half of the season, except for Daytona and the All-Star Race, which will stay on Fox/FS1) and TruTV/Max (second half).
“NASCAR also has a new free ad-supported TV channel on Fox-owned Tubi and is transitioning its in-car camera and scanner audio second-screen viewing experiences to Max.”
