What attracted you to these bed sheets? I really felt like linen sheets had become all the rage. This was a couple years ago, and while I toyed with the vision of a perfectly wrinkled dove gray set, I’m much more of a white bedding person. Brooklinen was one of two brands I was aware of making the type of linen sheets I wanted.
What’s it like sleeping on these bed sheets? It’s really nice. When I got these I thought white linen sheets year-round might be a slightly bold move, since I don’t live my life on a Greek island, but the nature of the fiber is versatile and temperature regulating.
Did the sheets live up to your expectations? Yes, but they are a little bit thin. I’m fine with this, but it’s just something to keep in mind if you are picturing a super dense weave.
Would you recommend the sheets to a friend? Yes.
- Thread count: N/A
- Material: Organic cotton
- Colors available: White, bone, willow, and dusk
- Warranty information: Parachute’s bedding is protected under a one-year warranty from the date of purchase. The brand will replace their sheets with the same or a similar product or provide a refund at their discretion. Their warranty does not cover: Change in comfort preferences, products not cleaned in accordance with care label instructions, or damaged goods resulting from abuse or improper care, or normal wear and tear.
Cotton sheet sets can lack the silky feel of other high-end materials; sheets sold separately
Machine-wash on a delicate cycle set on warm/cold water. Use mild laundry detergent and let the detergent dissolve in the water before loading your sheets. Tumble or air dry.

Editor’s Note: The Organic Fitted Sheet we originally tested is no longer in stock, but the brushed cotton is a worthy alternative.
What attracted you to these bed sheets? I love the Parachute brand and, when they said they were releasing a line of organic bedding last year, I jumped at the chance to give them a try. They’re also made in Portugal, which is known for producing excellent linens. The factory that Parachute works with has been family-owned for generations.
What’s it like sleeping on these bed sheets? It’s definitely not a silky smooth experience that you might get from a sateen weave, but it feels lovely nonetheless; it’s more of a grown up and tucked-in kind of vibe (which is a lot to say about a set of sheets). These sheets are clean and crisp, so there’s no stretchy action like you might expect with sheets of a lesser quality.
Would you recommend the sheets to a friend? I would. I try a lot of bedding in this line of work and, the more I do, the more I appreciate ethical and organic production (who wants to think about the chemicals they’re breathing in while they sleep?) even if the price tag is a little bit higher.

What attracted you to these bed sheets? These sheets got me interested by way of an Instagram ad. I was intrigued by the material—what does eucalyptus feel like?—and excited about the plant-dyed color options (they use ingredients like turmeric, gardenia, and pomegranate for the natural dying process).
What’s it like sleeping on these bed sheets? These sheets are smoooooth and feel like a silk/cotton combo. The cool-to-the-touch nature of the material is ideal for warmer months and hot sleepers, so I found the experience very nice. They only get softer after each wash.
Did the sheets live up to your expectations? I’m a fan! Not only are the sheets very lovely, but the mission of the brand is something to get behind. If you aren’t satisfied with your sheets, Buffy encourages you to donate them to someone in need—and you’ll still get a refund.
Would you recommend the sheets to a friend? Hypoallergenic, earth-friendly, naturally dyed, ultrasoft…would I recommend? One hundred percent!
- Thread count: 300
- Material: Organic long-staple cotton
- Colors available: White, natural, dune, mist, pewter, stone, sky, shore, mineral
- Warranty information: Boll & Branch’s items are returnable within 30 days of delivery. Refunds will exclude any shipping and handling that may have been charged to buyers.
Machine-wash in cold water with like colors on a gentle cycle. Tumble dry on medium heat. To avoid wrinkles, shake the sheets out between washing and drying and make sure the dryer isn’t overloaded so there’s room for the sheets to move around. The sheets are not preshrunk, so you may notice a tiny bit of shrinkage after a few washes.
Bed sheet reviewer: Rachel Fletcher, commerce director
What attracted you to these bed sheets? I was sold on the fact that Boll & Branch makes organic and fair trade sheets—and I love a sateen weave. Plus, the brand markets these as their bestselling sheet set around, so I wanted to see what the hype was about.
What’s it like sleeping on these bed sheets? Boll & Branch claims that these cotton sateen sheets are buttery soft, and I definitely agree. That extra-soft feel paired with the lovely, cooling properties of the sheets make them feel like the luxury sheets that they are.
Did the sheets live up to your expectations? Definitely. I also really appreciate the earthy color palette (I chose the mineral hue), and the hem detail is a really nice visual touch.
Would you recommend the sheets to a friend? One hundred percent. They really are some of the softest sheets I’ve ever tried—but they’re definitely on the pricier end, so I’d caveat with that.
- Thread Count: N/A
- Material: 100% premium viscose from bamboo fabric
- Colors available: Light grey, white, oat, driftwood, charcoal, navy, olive, sage, harbor mist, clay, stone, walnut, pacific blue, creme, and shore
- Warranty information: Cozy Earth’s bedding and bath products include a 10-year warranty against pilling, abnormal rips and tears, and defects. Their warranty does not include normal wear and tear or discoloration. (‘We Made Too Much” items, discontinued products, and reshipped orders are excluded from warranty claims.)
Ultra quality and luxurious fabric that feel like a dream to slip into at night
Errs on the side of being a bit too big
Cozy Earth advises to machine wash cold without fabric softeners or bleach and to tumble dry. They also recommend using a gentle detergent. Personally, I just put mine in the washer and dryer and ran them like I normally would and it was totally fine.
Bed Sheets Reviewer: Megan Wahn, former associate commerce editor
What attracted you to these bed sheets? As the name implies, Cozy Earth maintains a reputation for making things that feel like a warm hug. I first got introduced to the brand by way of the brand’s pajamas—which quickly became a nightly staple for me throughout the winter—and, as you might have noticed, we’ve included their bamboo linen bed sheets in this list as well. While I had faith the sheets would live up to the bar set by Cozy Earth’s pajamas, I’d already found an unexpected forever love in the Big Blanket Co. sateen dreams sheets and was wary of anything else living up to that standard. But, something about how the Cozy Earth sheets unravelled like a babbling stream of water as I took them out of their wrapping made me think: hmmm, maybe I should give these a shot?
How do they fit your bed? The fitted sheet fits well enough, but I have noticed the top sheet is a little large and loose. Overall it’s fine, but it does require some tucking between my mattress and my bed frame to ensure nothing drags on the floor. The slightly larger size applies to the pillowcases too. There’s a swath of extra fabric that sort of drapes off my pillows.
What’s it like sleeping on these bed sheets? I honestly thought these sheets were silk when I first laid on them, that’s how smooth and buttery soft they feel. Combined with Cozy Earth’s long sleeved pajamas, I truly feel like I’m Eloise at The Plaza whenever I slip in between these sheets. I tested them primarily in the winter and they kept me warm, though I’m especially eager to see how they perform in the summer. Something about their smoothness makes me think the summer night sweats won’t stand a chance.
Did the sheets live up to your expectations? I still maintain my love for the Big Blanket Co. sheets, but these Cozy Earth bamboo sheets have absolutely established a whole new bar and league of their own. They’re silky smooth, but maintain a comfy, coziness distinct to cotton sheets. Definitely excited to have these in my bedding rotation.
Would you recommend the sheets to a friend? These sheets are definitely a bit of a splurge that some might balk at. That said, if you’re moving or just generally looking to graduate from the average department store set of sheets, Cozy Earth’s a brand you should keep in mind. With some sheets, it’s hard to feel a noticeable difference in material quality but that’s not the case with the bamboo sheets. You can feel how yourself getting your money’s worth.
Other Linen Sheets We Love
Linen is a fantastic material to sleep on. Why? It’s naturally bacteria-resistant, ventilating, moisture-absorbing, and hypo-allergenic. Linen is especially great for hot sleepers, as the sheets breathe easily and will keep you cool through the worst that a summer heat wave has to throw your way. Despite being such a light and airy material, certain variations can also be thick and hardy for cooler weather as well. And even though linen tends to wrinkle for that gently lived-in look, we consider that part of the charm. There are plenty of affordable options on the market, as well, so you don’t have to lump these in the steep investment category.
- Material: TENCEL Lyocell and linen blend
- Colors available: White, bone, sage, and clover
- Warranty information: Parachute’s bedding is protected under a one-year warranty from the date of purchase. Their warranty does not cover: Change in comfort preferences, products not cleaned in accordance with care label instructions, or damaged goods resulting from abuse or improper care, or normal wear and tear.

What attracted you to these bed sheets? I’ve historically always shopped for cooling sheets—no matter the season. But after experiencing one too many cold New York City winters, I thought I’d branch out to a set of sheets that felt warm to the touch. After visiting their brick-and-mortar, I got a chance to feel Parachute’s Heirloom TENCEL Linen Sheet Set first-hand and immediately felt drawn to their soft and breathable feel. I have these bed sheets in the clover hue, but Parachute offers other neutral and soothing colorways to match your bedroom vibe.
What’s it like sleeping on these bed sheets? I feel warm and cozy every time I curl up in these bed sheets. I worried at first that I’d overheat with these sheets, but they have an airiness to them that keeps me comfortable throughout the night. Unlike my crisp sheet sets, these have a relaxed look that I love. After several trips through the washer and dryer, I’ve been really impressed by their durability. I haven’t noticed any color fading or frayed threads over time. I definitely recommend keeping these in rotation for all sleepers who like a plush bedding setup.

- Warranty information: Quince shoppers enjoy a 365-day return policy and are eligible for one free return per order (with $15 deducted from your refund for each subsequent return).
Bed sheets reviewer: Erika Owen, contributor
What attracted you to these bed sheets? I love a color theme, especially in my bedroom. I went with the sage, which is deliciously subtle and seems to match with everything. I am always a fan of linen sheets, as they’re naturally breathable and moisture-wicking and I’ll keep them on the bed year-round. I also love that Quince sheets are free of harmful characters and toxins (plus, their loungewear is a total dream).
What’s it like sleeping on these bed sheets? They always seem to be cool, which is a feat in our apartment, where the temperature varies wildly. I loved the lived-in, wrinkled look they pick up after a sleep or two. The sheets also feel like they’ll hold up for years to come.

What attracted you to these bed sheets? Nowadays linen sheets make regular appearances in the pages of AD, as they’ve become the bedding of choice for the likes of star stylist Colin King. Maybe it’s because I can be a bit lazy when it comes to making the bed, but I have always been drawn to their relaxed, rumpled look. No military-style tight tucks in my boudoir, thank you.
What’s it like sleeping on these bed sheets? Linen sheets always take some breaking in. I washed mine twice to loosen up the texture and soften the weave, helping the fabric to realize its drapey potential. They’re still a touch stiff on account of the heavy, quality linen, but as with all linen sheets they need some tossing and turning to get them into ideal condition. Give ’em another week of slumber, I think, and they’ll be just dreamy.
Other Percale and Cotton Sheets We Love
Crisp and smooth, percale sheets are a great option for hot sleepers. Thread counts often exceed 200, resulting in a tight weave that gives the sheets a sturdier feel. Despite the added heft, they’re still incredibly breathable and moisture-wicking. Woven in a cross-cross pattern, percale sets are made from high-quality or long-staple cotton. Percale sheets are sometimes made with cotton mixed with other materials like silk or rayon, which give them a silkier feel. One of the other perks of percale sheets is that they often pill less than other materials.
- Thread count: 500
- Material: Egyptian cotton percale (Oeko-Tex Standard 100 certified)
- Colors available: Honey, truffle, red, white, charcoal, silver, baltic, pool, azure, hazy blue, bone/white, silver/white, and pool/white
- Warranty information: While monogrammed Matouk items and other custom pieces are final sale, you can return unused, unwashed items in their original packaging within 30 days.
Bed sheet reviewer: Allie Weiss, US digital director
What attracted you to these bed sheets? I’ve long heard the name Matouk mentioned in conversations about cream-of-the-crop bedding, and was eager to try it myself! The Bergamo style appealed to me for its simplicity in appearance—no frills, just a simple satin stitch that would work on nearly every style bed. The brand promises this high-end percale to be silky and light, two descriptors that I’m sure pretty much everyone would want to associate with their sheets.
What’s it like sleeping on these bed sheets? I barely noticed them—and I mean that in the best way! I hate scratchy sheets, and breathed a sigh of relief when I slipped into these. They are both lightweight, crisp looking, and soft to the touch—talk about a win-win.
Other Cooling Sheets We Love
For some, sleeping is always a sweaty activity—no matter the season. For self-identified hot sleepers, beeline for sheet sets made of materials like breathable cotton or bamboo, linen, and moisture-wicking eucalyptus fiber.
- Thread count: 300
- Material: Bamboo cotton
- Colors available: White, Khaki, Silver
- Warranty information: Brooklyn Bedding honors a one year warranty for sheet defects. Items are also eligible for an exchange or refund within 30 days from the date of delivery. Note: Clearance items are final sale.
Bed sheet reviewer: Terri Williams, contributor
What attracted you to these bed sheets? I wanted some breathable bamboo sheets, since bamboo is a sustainable material. Also, I hate scratchy sheets, so I wanted some that were soft and comfortable. The sheets also needed to have deep pockets, since I have a higher profile mattress. I also like a variety of neutral color choices. These sheets checked all of those boxes.
What’s it like sleeping on these bed sheets? It’s an enjoyable experience. Bamboo cotton is so soft, and it’s also moisture-wicking, so I stay cool throughout the night. The sheets also stay in place, so I never have to worry about them sliding up the sides of the mattress.
Did the sheets live up to your expectations? Yes. Even after weekly washings, the sheets have retained their color and crispness, and look as good as they did on day one.
- Thread count: 400
- Material: Bamboo cotton
- Colors available: White, grey, sage
- Warranty information: Sheets & Giggles offers a three-year manufacturer warranty that covers defects. The brand also covers return shipping costs for items.
Bed sheet reviewer: Kristi Kellogg, contributor
What attracted you to these bed sheets? I was in the market for new bed sheets and headed to Amazon. These 400-thread-count sheets stood out for their many rave reviews. They’re billed as super soft, hypoallergenic, moisture-wicking, and naturally cooling, thanks to the eucalyptus lyocell fabric. As an added bonus, they’re chemical-free and sustainably made. Oh, they also come with a lifetime warranty. How can you go wrong? I got them in gray.
