We’ve been reporting on Sen. John Fetterman’s bizarre and vile remarks he’s been making about his Congressional colleagues over the past few days. He’s gone out of his way to attack his fellow Congressional colleagues, including with some pretty vile comments.
But one of the things that has been most interesting about his remarks has been that while there were a lot of questions about his judgment and his character with his remarks, surprisingly his speech from the stroke seemed to be pretty clear and coherent. He seemed to be getting what was being said and replaying back, largely in an understandable, albeit disgusting, manner.
That seemed to show a remarkable recovery after he had been so impaired just a short while, even needing a machine to be able to comprehend what was being said to him. Now these comments are bizarre and juvenile, and they mock a serious process. But they are largely coherent, something that his comments haven’t been in the recent past.

In Fetterman’s appearance on MSNBC with Chris Hayes, it was hard to tell if he was fully coherent.

It’s difficult to make a judgment as to what his condition is when you only see him in a few clips. Not to mention who knows if the MSNBC interview was edited or if they kept in all the times he might have said something that was not quite right.
But a new clip of Fetterman visiting the UAW strike in Michigan shows that — unfortunately — he does seem to still be having some big issues in terms of his communication. Fetterrman went there to throw his weight behind the striking autoworkers, and said that he was very pro-union.
John Fetterman: “My message to the, the CEOs, CEOs is, you know, it’s $74 million, you know, collectively earning that, you know, how many yachts can they need, you know, to, to yacht, to water, uh, ski behind it, you know, I mean, it’s, it’s crazy.”

“My message to the, the COs, COs [CEOs] is, you know, it’s $74 million, you know, collectively earning that, you know,” Fetterman said in scrambled fashion. “How many yachts can they need, you know, to, to yacht, to water, uh, ski behind it, you know, I mean, it’s, it’s crazy.”
I don’t have a yacht, but the last time I checked you don’t generally go water skiing behind it, and I’m not sure what he was trying to say there with the rest of the quote. It may be a bit like Biden, that it’s variable depending on his condition. Biden tends to do worse later in the day and when he’s tired. Unfortunately, there seems to be more and more of those times.
