Former President Donald Trump on Tuesday morning vowed to hold a press conference on Monday, August 21, at which he says he’ll release an “irrefutable” and “conclusive” report that he believes will lead to his “complete exoneration” in the Georgia 2020 presidential election-tampering case.

As we reported late Monday night, Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis (Democrat) handed up a 41-count indictment against Trump, his former personal lawyer Rudy Giuliani, his former chief of staff, Mark Meadows, and 16 other alleged co-conspirators.

The indictment centers on violations of Georgia’s Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations (RICO) Act and also includes solicitation of violation of an oath by a public officer, conspiracy, and filing a false statement.

Trump was predictably livid, and on Tuesday morning, he posted a big claim on Truth Social:

A Large, Complex, Detailed but Irrefutable REPORT on the Presidential Election Fraud which took place in Georgia is almost complete & will be presented by me at a major News Conference at 11:00 A.M. on Monday of next week in Bedminster, New Jersey.  Based on the results of this CONCLUSIVE Report, all charges should be dropped against me & others — There will be a complete EXONERATION! They never went after those that Rigged the Election. They only went after those that fought to find the RIGGERS!

OK — but a couple of questions immediately come to mind, which we’ll get to in a bit.

Trump wasn’t finished — not by a longshot. He further railed:

Why didn’t they Indict 2.5 years ago? Because they wanted to do it right in the middle of my political campaign. Witch Hunt!

Not to nitpick, but the same question can be asked of Trump himself.

If Trump indeed has the irrefutable and conclusive proof that will lead to his “complete exoneration,” why did he wait 2.5 years — until after the serious legal issues surrounding his alleged attempt to interfere with the results of the 2020 presidential election reached eyeball-depth?

Also predictable, as we reported earlier on Tuesday, now that the sprawling Georgia indictment is official, Donald Trump isn’t the only one taking heat from his detractors.

Former Trump lawyer Sidney Powell, who was dropped from Trump’s legal team in November 2020 and has since been thoroughly discredited — including for her ridiculous multitudinous threats to “Release the Kraken” and promises of “biblical evidence,” none of which she ever produced — appears to be an early favorite to be thrown under the bus by at least several other co-defendants in the complex Georgia indictment case.

I’m sure other finger-pointing will commence, as well (it always does in such cases), but one thing is certain:

Between Donald Trump’s legal woes and the mountainous scandals surrounding Joe Biden and the Biden Family Business, the 2024 presidential election promises to be like none other in the history of America.

In a nation of roughly 340 million people, who’d a thunk we’d ever face such a situation — twice?
