GOP presidential nominee Donald Trump weighed in on the port strike that threatens to cripple the nation’s supply chain, and he knows what’s to blame: the massive inflation caused by the Harris-Biden spending machine.

The strike could cost as much as $5 billion a day, according to estimates. The union is demanding large wage increases and a ban on all automation at ports.

The former president spoke with Fox Digital Tuesday after the International Longshoreman’s Association (ILA) went on strike at midnight Monday for the first time since 1977, threatening to throw the nation’s economy into chaos.

It’s hardly a surprise, Trump said:

“The strike was caused by the massive inflation that was created by the Harris-Biden regime,” Trump told Fox News Digital. “Everybody understands the dockworkers because they were decimated by this inflation, just like everybody else in our country and beyond.”

Trump’s campaign also posted to social media Tuesday to claim that this would never be happening if he were in charge:

As we reported, the union has been talking tough:

President Joe Biden, meanwhile, has refused to step in or invoke the Taft-Hartley Act:

Though the union’s president declined to disclose what that exact wage number is, President Biden, whose administration has tried to facilitate talks between the two sides, has said that he will not use a federal labor law known as the Taft-Hartley Act to intervene in the strike.

Under that law, Biden could take action that results in an 80-day “cooling off” period for negotiations to resume while workers are back at work.

The U.S. Chamber of Commerce, the largest trade group representing American businesses, urged Biden in a letter to invoke Taft-Hartley to “protect our economy” by avoiding a work stoppage.

However, the president has maintained that he will not intervene.

It’s unclear what Democrat presidential candidate Kamala Harris thinks of the issue, or if she even understands it.

You’d Better Stock Up Right Now Because This Imminent Biden-Harris Disaster Is Going to Hurt

As RedState’s Teri Christoph reported, a prolonged strike could hit us all in the wallets—hard—and could bring back unhappy memories of the COVID era:

We’ll likely be seeing the kinds of shortages and bare grocery shelves that we saw back in the days of the pandemic…

The pending strike could result in shortages of consumer and industrial goods, meaning prices will skyrocket and cripple an already dismal economy. It’s being reported that this could also halt the delivery of “parts needed by US factories could disrupt those plants’ operations and even lead to temporary layoffs.”

If this strike goes forward, American families are going to be hit hard. Again.

That’s the last thing regular Americans need right now. Thanks, Joe and Kamala.
