Former President Donald Trump Tuesday retracted a federal suit against New York State Attorney General Letitia Jam for the second time in five consecutive days.

Trump has voluntarily dropped an appeal to a May 2022 New York Federal Judge dismissing a suit against James. The lawsuit was filed in an attempt to stall James’ investigation into alleged fraud by Trump, and .

A spokesperson for Attorney Alina Habba stated Tuesday that the appeal was “voluntarily withheld for strategic purposes.”

Trump withdrew another claim in Florida filed by James’ office. Trump, his three children, and his company were sued for $250 million. The claims alleged a pattern of fraud over many years.

Habba retracted both suits. On Thursday, a Florida federal judge ordered her and Trump to jointly pay $1 million for a “completely frivolous” lawsuit that was filed against Hillary Clinton and other defendants.

Donald M. Middlebrooks, U.S. District Judge, concluded that Trump had undermined “the Rule of Law” by filing a series of lawsuits to air political grievances. He ordered Trump and Alina habba to pay Clinton and other defendants $937,989.39.

Middlebrooks was also assigned to one of Trump’s lawsuits against James. Trump’s misuses of the courts was cited by Middlebrooks. Middlebrooks described Trump as a “mastermind for strategic abuse of the judiciary process.”

In September, Trump’s suit against Clinton had been dismissed By Middlebrooks. According to the suit, Clinton, James Comey, ex-FBI Director and other officials conspired with Russia to harm Trump’s 2016 presidential campaign.

In a federal court in New York state, the December 2021 lawsuit claimed that James’ office was conducting an politically motivated investigation. Trump called the investigation “unconstitutional” in a telephone conversation with CBS News on the day it was filed.

In her May 2022 dismissal, U.S. District Judge Brenda Sannes stated that Trump had failed to prove this claim.

James stated in a statement, that she was “pleased by Donald Trump’s pending actions against me.”

James stated, “As we’ve shown, we have a valid legal case against him, his organization, and we can’t be bullied or dissuaded”
