Its dimensions are 79″ W x 37″ D x 36″ H. When the mattress is open, its dimensions are 79″ W x 90″ D x 30″ H. I think it fits perfectly in my living room, or any space that could theoretically fit a queen size bed comfortably. It might be most beneficial to a small apartment where there isn’t space for both a guest bed and a living room sofa.
Sit Test: Is it comfortable? Does it feel well made? Does the couch have a tendency to sag?
The Apt2B Avalon sleeper sofa is very comfortable. The high-density foam seat cushions are very plush and maintain their firmness, even when two or three people are sitting on it at once. It feels high quality but also durable enough that I don’t have to be worried about everyday use.
Is it kid and/or dog friendly?
Yes—it’s soft, supportive, safe, and easy to clean. It’s made of hypoallergenic fabrics, which is suitable for kids and those with fabric sensitivities. And the reversible and flippable cushioning make it easy and accessible to clean for those with pets.
Do the photos do this product justice? Was there anything you were surprised to see IRL?
I actually think the fabric was richer and more vibrant in real life! The photos didn’t fully illuminate the texture and glimmer of the jewel-tone velvet—it looked flatter and more dull. At the same time, sometimes velvet can look tacky or cheap in person, but that wasn’t the case—even though it was shinier than anticipated. I was worried about the velvet shedding or pilling, but it feels more like high-density velveteen, so I don’t think the fabric will wear over time like normal velvet.
What are the care and cleaning instructions? Do you think stains could be easily removed?
Spot clean when necessary and dry clean when possible. Given the high-performance quality of the velvet, I think that it could be cleaned without any damage or wear.

What type of mattress does your sofa have?
The mattress is a 4.5″ thick memory foam mattress, which opens via an easy-fold steel mechanism that comes with a one-year manufacturer guarantee. The mattress is on the thinner side, but it’s very soft. The memory foam also offers back support, so I don’t feel tired or achey in my back when I wake up in the morning, as I often do after sleeping on sleeper sofas.
Lay test (pulled out): Does the couch easily convert into sleeper mode?
Two people can sleep on the sofa at once. I was able to convert it into a sleeper by myself, though it was a bit of a process, and I wished someone else could’ve given me a hand. It’s definitely doable, though—and worth it!
Comfort: Is it comfortable? Does it feel well made? How does it compare to the traditional mattresses you’ve slept on?
I’m a five-foot-six side sleeper who has always slept on very soft mattresses—this reminds me a lot of the cozy, plush mattresses I had growing up and is probably best suited for those who like medium-plush mattresses. It’s probably too soft for those who prefer very firm mattresses, but for me, it offers a bit of reprieve!
Did you put sheets on the sleeper sofa?
Yes, it was similar to putting sheets on a mattress that is surrounded by walls on two sides. There’s a bit of pulling and adjusting required, but it isn’t anything too crazy.
