One of the common defenses of the Democrats to the Biden family scandal is to try to put Hunter Biden at arm’s length from his father and say there’s “no evidence” that he was involved or that money went to him. Of course, that’s a rather silly argument, given all the evidence of dinners, phone calls, witnesses, and emails showing Joe Biden’s “involvement.”

But one of the reasons they can’t do that and that defense fails is because of how Hunter and Joe’s money seems to have been commingled. But now Republicans are reacting to a text from 2018 in which Hunter said that his father had been “using lines” on his account for the “past 11 years.”

Hunter was talking with his assistant Katie Dodge about he got locked out of his Wells Fargo account.

“Too many cooks in the kitchen,” he wrote on April 12, 2018. “Too many profile changes and such. Happened 10 days ago too. What do you need? I’m going to bank in a few. Need to verify identity in person.”

“I need to pay AT&T,” Dodge responded.

Hunter Biden then instructed Dodge to put the payment on both his debit card and his “Wells Fargo credit line.”

“My dad has been using most lines on this account which I’ve through the gracious offerings of Eric [Schwerin] have paid for past 11 years,” Hunter wrote.

Whoops. So if Hunter was getting money from the Chinese and the Russians, and Joe was utilizing Hunter’s money, that’s not good, and that’s evidence that isn’t going to help him in an impeachment.

This is setting off the Republicans, including House Conference Chair Elise Stefanik (R-NY)

This is what corruption looks like. For seemingly the entirety of Joe Biden’s Vice Presidency, his son Hunter was selling access to his father to the highest bidder while paying off his Joe Biden’s credit card bills,” Stefanik said. “There can no longer be any doubt that Joe Biden is compromised.”

Committee Republicans told Fox News Digital that the 2018 texts between Hunter and his assistant provide further evidence that the president had at least a passive understanding of his son’s business dealings, despite repeatedly claiming he had no knowledge.

“There’s more. Much, much more,” said Rep. Clay Higgins, R-La. “Joe Biden is most certainly a heavily compromised career politician. Republicans on the Oversight Committee are revealing the depths of his corruption, and everyone close to him will be burned by the inferno of his crash.”

“Bank records don’t lie,” said Rep. Paul Gosar, R-Ariz. “Follow the money: all transactions lead to the Big Guy and his money laundering shell games. Joe Biden should be impeached.”

“This is no longer just about Hunter Biden,” said Rep. Tim Burchett, R-Tenn. “The president shared this bank account with him. More and more evidence just keeps hitting us in the mouth and eventually there’s got to be some justice. The American people are owed that much.”

Good. Then they’ll get that it’s about time that Joe Biden is held to account.

We reported on this text before and on the conflation of accounts back in 2021, explaining how this completely blew Joe’s defense — not only did Joe have Hunter’s business associate Eric Schwerin working on his finances and all kinds of other business for him, but Joe was using money from Hunter’s accounts. It’s pretty hard to hold Hunter at arm’s length when you have that going on. As we noted, Hunter wrote about having to pay for everyone, including Joe.

In a 2019 text to his daughter Naomi, he wrote: ‘I hope you all can do what I did and pay for everything for this entire family for 30 years.

‘It’s really hard. But don’t worry, unlike Pop [Joe], I won’t make you give me half your salary.’

Bills Hunter paid for Joe included a $190-a-month AT&T phone bill and thousands in repairs on the president’s lakeside home in Wilmington.

Schwerin also did Joe’s taxes for him, and when Joe’s tax refund check came in, Schwerin put it in Hunter’s account because he wrote to Hunter that Joe “owed” it to him.

Schwerin was so close to Joe that he was making arrangements for him.

Schwerin was involved in fielding new book proposals for Joe and giving his Senate papers to the University of Delaware. Schwerin was even contacted by Danny O’Brien, then chief of staff to U.S.-Spain Council chair Senator Menendez, contacted Schwerin asking if Vice President Biden could host the group’s annual meeting at the VP residence.

Schwerin wrote how some of the people at the event were going to include the CEOs of major banks, which sounded like they were going to try to work the people at the event.

Then Schwerin got a lot of invites to the White House, 36 according to the last known count, and Rosemont Seneca received a lot of favors, like tickets for White House events and private tours.

So, Republicans, there’s ample evidence there. There’s been ample evidence there for years. Time to stop just talking and start taking action.
