Nottingham Forest have appointed Tom Cartledge as their new chairman after deciding to make changes at the top of the club.
Nicholas Randall, who had been chairman since Evangelos Marinakis’ takeover in 2017, will remain on the board but has been reduced to the role of non-executive director, on a significantly lower salary, as part of the boardroom reshuffle.
More changes are expected to be made as part of a busy summer behind the scenes at the City Ground, with the club trying to improve their infrastructure at all levels.
Cartledge, who hails from the Newark area of Nottinghamshire and is a boyhood Forest fan, is the chief executive of Handley House, the parent company for four international businesses specialising in design and architecture.
One of those businesses is Benoy, the Newark-based firm that designed the plans to redevelop of the City Ground with a new 10,000-seat Peter Taylor stand.
Forest announced the plans in February 2019 and, having hit a series of delays ever since, the club hope that Cartledge’s involvement will help the process run more smoothly.
