AC Milan have agreed a deal for USMNT midfielder Yunus Musah with Valencia.
The deal is €20million (£17.1m) with a further €1m in add-ons.
The Athletic reported this week that 20-year-old had made it clear that he only wanted to join the Italian club despite interest from Premier League sides including West Ham United and Fulham.
Musah will now join his USMNT team-mate Christian Pulisic in moving to Milan this transfer window, with the forward having signed from Chelsea earlier this month. The midfielder holds an Italian passport so crucially would not take up another non-EU registration slot for Milan this season.
Milan made three offers for Musah, who has been a regular at Valencia for the last three years after joining from Arsenal in 2019.
Following a year in their B team, Musah has made 108 appearances for Valencia’s first team over the last three seasons, scoring five goals.
After impressing in previous seasons for Valencia, Musah had a difficult second half of 2022-23, and dropped out of the plans of current coach Ruben Baraja.
Milan have already completed the signings of Marco Sportiello, Ruben Loftus-Cheek, Samuel Chukwueze, Tijiani Reijnders, Noah Okafor, and Pulisic this summer.
Brahim Diaz, meanwhile, has returned to Real Madrid after spending the past three seasons on loan at Milan.
Stefano Pioli’s side will play in the Champions League again next season following their fourth-placed Serie A finish in 2022-23.
