Why the Lions made this move
The Lions haven’t been shy about their interest in Bridgewater. They’ve been in contact with his camp for much of the offseason and finally came to terms on a deal that lands him in Detroit.
Bridgewater spent time in New Orleans with Dan Campbell, so there’s a level of comfort between the two parties. With the Lions turning a corner and heading into a season with meaningful expectations for the first time in years, the front office made it a priority to upgrade the QB room this offseason.
