AD100 designer Isle Crawford’s London-based firm, Studioilse, has long defined a distinguished style of warm and homey yet sophisticated interiors across the globe; it’s perhaps best known for its work on numerous SoHo House locations, as well as collaborations with prominent brands such as IKEA. Today, she debuts her newest capsule collection with American retailer Anthropologie, featuring a line of products ranging from seating, tables, ottomans, and benches to smaller items such as textiles, pillows, and lighting.
One of the main focuses of the collection? Creating products that could elevate domestic decor perfect for a home office. “The collaboration began in May 2020, so it was influenced by new perspectives on what the home should be that came out of the pandemic and the needs of WFH,” shares Ilse. This also meant focusing on clever storage solutions, such as the two-drawer nightstand, and ottomans with hidden pockets.
Another priority was working with lightweight and easy-to-move materials designed to be helpful in a new era of multiuse spaces. “Each piece was carefully considered and designed with the idea of the home becoming a versatile place in which one can live and work harmoniously,” says Julie Gwin, AnthroLiving’s Associate Director of Collaborations.
In terms of aesthetic, AnthroLiving and Ilse opted for a style that’s reflective of both brands, using tactile materials including linen, wool, and cotton that add both a natural element and softness to the home. For the lighting—which Isle notes is her favorite part of the collection—the team chose alabaster and paper cord. “They are lovely volumes, which really translate well in terms of the natural materials they use, the handmade feel, and the mood they create,” the designer notes.
Despite the launch three years after conversations between the brands began, the duo is resolving many pandemic-related issues still persistent today—for example, work from home spaces and multiuse rooms. Plus, the woven, neutrally-toned feel of the collection is perfect for the coming summer months. As of today, the collection is available on Anthropologie.com, with prices ranging from $98 to $2,598.
