Energy Secretary Jennifer Granholm went off on a four-day road trip between North Carolina and Tennessee to promote the Biden team’s efforts to push electric vehicles. But the effort became an embarrassing failure when what they proved was how challenging such a trip was. Not only did they show that the system has a lot of problems, including long waits to charge and broken chargers at stations, but they also created a second issue when they were busted for acting like entitled clowns.
When their group pulled into a charging station in Georgia, they ended up blocking a fast charger with a gas-powered vehicle, trying to reserve it so that Granholm could use it and blocking out other people from using it, including a family with a baby on a sweltering day. That got them a lot of blowback because it showed how delusional they are about the system being able to work now for Americans when they were having such problems. It also showed them acting like clowns. They didn’t care about the American people they were supposed to be serving and acted like Granholm was the Queen who was entitled to the spot because of her position. Not only that, but they used a non-EV vehicle to do it. So they had to use gas-guzzling vehicles, too, on this completely voluntary road trip. Great job there, spewing more emissions.
Some compared Granholm’s entitlement road trip to an episode of VEEP.
Now, the audio of the family calling the police has been released.
“I’m calling because I’m in the Grovetown Walmart at the charging station and there’s literally a non-electric car that is taking up a space and said they’re holding the space for somebody else,” the woman who made the 911 call told a police dispatcher in the recording obtained Tuesday by Fox News Digital. “And it’s holding up a whole bunch of people who need to charge their cars.”
“There are other people who are waiting to charge and they’re still here and they’re not in electric cars,” she continued. “The sign says you can’t park here unless you’re charging.”
The police responded and ultimately helped to settle the matter, but they didn’t file a report. Was that because it wasn’t a crime or because they didn’t want to have to say something bad about Granholm? Either way, it showed the battles to come at charging stations if they push this kind of thing now when the system can’t handle it.
“If the Biden administration can’t make it from Charlotte to Memphis without an incident, how do they expect to transition our military’s nontactical fleet to electric by 2030? Their greenie push is unreliable, absurd, and fully dependent on China. Let’s call it what it is – a road to nowhere,” Sen. Joni Ernst, R-Iowa, said during the GOP leadership press conference Tuesday.
Gas-powered cars represented 93% of all new car sales in 2022, according to a report from the Alliance for Automotive Innovation. And EVs remain far more expensive and less efficient than alternatives.
It’s not happening, certainly not by 2030. That’s just one of Joe Biden’s many pipe dreams and fantasyland thoughts.
