Carpenters Workshop Gallery and Calodney Art Advisory return to Aspen
Idyllic Aspen has once again lured Carpenters Workshop Gallery and Calodney Art Advisory to present In Repetition, There is Difference. Held at 601 East Hyman Avenue, the exhibition (through August 12) draws from the theories and writings of French philosopher Gilles Deleuze and Irish novelist and playwright Samuel Beckett to illuminate the subtleties of repetition. Works from an all-star lineup of talents—including Atelier van Lieshout, Maarten Baas, Judy Chicago, Aki+Arnaud Cooren, Vincenzo De Cotiis, Ingrid Donat, Johanna Grawunder, Jennifer Guidi, Damien Hirst, David Hockney, Donald Judd, Yayoi Kusama, Rick Owen, Wonmin Park, Adam Pendleton, Richard Prince, Eric Schmitt, and Cy Twombly—explore the nuanced process of repetition in art and design by experimenting with pattern, light, and materiality.
