ATHENS, Ga. — A day after a high-profile miss on the recruiting trail, Georgia got back on the snide to add to its No. 1-ranked class: Nate Frazier, the top running back in the 2024 class, committed to Georgia, taking some of the sting off losing five-star safety KJ Bolden. Here’s what you need to know:
- Frazier is rated a four-star by the 247Sports Composite, ranking No. 51 overall and as the No. 4 running back in the 2024 class.
- It’s another big out-of-state pull for Georgia, whose six top commitments per the industry composite are from out of state. (That includes QB Dylan Raiola, who played last year in Arizona but transferred to Buford, Ga. for this year.)
- Frazier will be a senior this year at Mater Dei High School in Santa Ana, Calif.
- Frazier is listed at 5-10 and 210 pounds, and rushed for 11.4 yards per carry last year at Mater Dei, where he only had 61 carries last year. He chose Georgia over Alabama and Oregon, among others.

Where does Frazier fit in at Georgia?
He becomes the third running back commitment for Georgia’s class, joining four-stars Chauncey Bowens and Dwight Phillips Jr. The position is a need for Georgia in this class because two of its five current scholarship tailbacks are seniors (Kendall Milton and Daijun Edwards).
Georgia also missed out last year on its top running back target, Justice Haynes, whose father Verron played fullback at Georgia, but whose son elected to go to Alabama. While the Bulldogs still got four-star Roderick Robinson in last year’s class, they wanted to get more star power in the 2024 class, and Frazier certainly is that.
It was also a good lift for the Bulldogs a day after missing out on Bolden, who surprised many by choosing Florida State over home-state Georgia. Bolden attends Buford High School, where he is now teammates with Raiola.
