Former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani, once known as “America’s Mayor” for his powerful response after 9/11, surrendered at the Fulton County, Georgia Jail Wednesday along with former Trump lawyer Sidney Powell. They both face multiple charges in the Georgia election subversion case filed by Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis.

Powell and Giuliani were charged with multiple crimes, as was the former president and others, including attorney John Eastman and former Trump chief of staff Mark Meadows.

One of Trump’s most outspoken attorneys in 2020, Giuliani was charged with 13 crimes, including breaking the state’s racketeering act, engaging in various criminal conspiracies, and soliciting a public officer in the state to violate their oath.

Giuliani agreed to a $150,000 bond package after flying to Atlanta earlier Wednesday. Powell agreed to $100,000 bond.

Giuliani made brief remarks to reporters after his booking and said that he’d spoken with Trump:

I talked to the president today. I wish him well.

I have every confidence in him.

Trump is expected to turn himself in on Thursday and has agreed to a $200,000 bond. It’s unclear at this juncture whether he’ll make a statement before or after his surrender:

Trump will leave his Bedminster golf club in in the afternoon and return to New Jersey following his surrender. There are no expected events at his club upon his return. Trump’s team has also been making arrangements for him to speak to reporters traveling with him in Georgia, the sources said, though the former president may ultimately choose not to do so.

As we’ve reported, the former president is skipping Wednesday night’s GOP presidential primary debate and will instead appear in a pre-recorded interview with former Fox News host Tucker Carlson.

Before departing his New York City home, Giuliani sounded confident:

“I’m going to Georgia, and I’m feeling very, very, good about it because I feel like I’m defending the rights of all Americans as I did so many times as a United States Attorney,” he said.

“People like to say I’m different – I’m the same Rudy Giuliani that took down the Mafia, that made New York City the safest city in America, reduced crime more than any mayor in the history of any city anywhere, and I’m fighting for justice,” he explained….

Rudy Giuliani also offered a warning to reporters on his way out saying, “whether you dislike or you like Donald Trump, let me give you a warning: They’re gonna come for you.”

Listen to his full statement:

Meanwhile, as RedState’s Mike Miller reported, Powell made numerous claims, including vowing to “release the Kraken” (a mythical octopus-like sea creature capable of destroying entire ships and dragging sailors to their doom), but was never able to provide sufficient evidence of election interference. She has been charged with seven counts, including conspiracy to commit election fraud, conspiracy to commit computer theft, conspiracy to commit computer trespass, conspiracy to commit computer invasion of privacy, and conspiracy to defraud the state of Georgia.

UPDATE: Giuliani’s mugshot has been released:
