FORT MYERS, Fla. — Dave St. Peter’s tenure as Minnesota Twins president is officially coming to a close.
On Monday, Derek Falvey is expected to take over as team president while St. Peter, who has held the position for the past 22 years, transitions to a strategic advisor role. The Twins originally announced plans for the transition, a series of moves that also elevated Jeremy Zoll to general manager, in November.
Now in his ninth year with the organization, Falvey will oversee both the business and baseball operations. Falvey has led the team’s baseball operations since he was hired in November 2016.
St. Peter joined the Twins organization as an intern in 1990. In his new role, St. Peter will continue “to provide guidance on a range of key development issues, including the continued long-term evolution of Target Field and the club’s new broadcast partnership with Major League Baseball, among others,” the team said.
