Dems Reveal More 'Rules for Thee, but Not for Me' Hypocrisy When It Comes to Senate Dress Code

We’ve seen a lot of deterioration and chaos during the Biden administration on every level. We’ve seen military chaos with the Afghanistan withdrawal, economic chaos with inflation, and societal chaos from pushing mandates and radical beliefs.

Over and over again, we see the Democratic hypocrisy, from COVID to climate change, where we must comply with the rules—even when they refuse to.

We see it here with Joe Biden. Remember how he scolded Americans, calling masking a patriotic duty? But when his people claimed that he would be masking up after Jill Biden got COVID yet again, despite having every COVID vaccine possible, Biden blew off wearing the mask into a briefing.

Then he played this odd on-and-off game with the mask during this video he put out about the new situation room.

Then we are scolded about climate change, even as Biden tools around in a huge gas-guzzling motorcade and flies off to vacation every weekend.

But now the Democrats are taking a step to change the Senate dress code. For senators, mind you, not for anyone else who enters the chamber.

Fox’s Chad Pergram posted that now Senators can wear whatever they want, but others must comply with the dress code, which is: “Coats/ties for men. Business attire for women.”

This is coming from Sen. Chuck Schumer (D-NY), who, as Senate Majority Leader, directed the Senate’s Sergeant at Arms to stop enforcing the rules. “Senators are able to choose what they wear on the Senate floor. I will continue to wear a suit,” Schumer told Axios.

It’s not hard to guess why. Even Axios noted the following in reporting on this change.

The new directive will allow Sen. John Fetterman (D-Pa.), who tends to favor gym shorts and hoodies over the business attire traditionally required in the chamber, to linger on the Senate floor before and after votes.

I reported on the bizarre comment Fetterman made last week about the impeachment inquiry, and he was wearing gym shorts at the time.

So not only does it look like they are changing the rules because Fetterman refuses to comply, but they’re making all the staff and any of the regular people still follow the rules, while the elite senators who are supposed to be serving us can do whatever they want.

Can we shout about the hypocrisy here and remind them they’re supposed to be serving us? This isn’t a lounge but a place where they are supposed to be working for America.
